Andy's bar is one of those places that try to be everything to all people. The name gives an image of something owned by an ex-pat British football fan. In reality, it's nothing like it. A quite decent resort bar and restaurant that's open from 08.00-16.00, then 18.00 -23.00.
I particularly enjoyed the breakfast at this restaurant the fruit, yoghurt and granola are particularly nice. Not one for the "full English", I will leave that to the family to enjoy. They have the best coffee I have tasted in many a restaurant! As somebody who travels on business 3 to 4 times a month, I get to taste an awful lot of bad coffee and trust me their coffee is fantastic. A family of four could have a mixture of breakfasts for around about 20 to €30.
The service is quick and efficient and the waiting staff speak both English and Spanish as one would expect in a resort that's filled with British tourists.
If you're eating out in the evening Andy's bar is more of a restaurant than what the name suggests. From an extensive range of fish dishes, meats and tapas. One can eat here every night of the week without getting bored. The prices are around mid-range for the resort of Cala d'Or. A family of four would typically pay around about 75 to €90 for a meal depending on what you had to drink. The range of wines is good and if you're unsure, ask the waiting staff. If you have a wine that you particularly like, describe it, they have no problem with letting you taste a few types to...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews but in this case I feel obligated to let people know I wouldn’t recommend going here at all. I got the Vege lasagne and my partner got the pizza and garlic bread. Food came out within 10 mins so you could tell nothing was fresh. The lasagne had been frozen and I ended up being really unwell all night due to the lasagne. My partners pizza was clearly shop bought or very low quality, worse than Wetherspoons in the only way I can describe it. Ketchup was in Heinz bottles but tasted like vinegar they clearly just refill the bottles. My mother got the battered cod and that definitely wasn’t fresh either for the price....
Read moreWalked past this restaurant a few times and decided to give it a try one night. It was very busy as you would expect for August. Service wasn’t great, took a while to get drinks and even longer to get one of the 4 or 5 staff to take our food order. From what I saw, there’s only one guy taking food orders and the others are either taking drinks orders or clearing the tables. This way of working just doesn’t work when there’s 4 or 5 families who arrive at the same time in a busy time of the year. The drinks are overpriced and the paella we had was ok, nothing special. The fish we ate was bland & tasteless. Overall disappointed and left a...
