TIPY TAPA — Restaurant in Santanyí

Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Hype. I recently visited this tapas restaurant, lured in by the impressive Google and TripAdvisor ratings. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of my expectations. Starting with the patatas bravas, which I consider the benchmark of any tapas restaurant, I was thoroughly disappointed. The sauce tasted like hot ketchup with barely a hint of spice, and the alioli had a strange texture, more like cottage cheese than the smooth, garlicky sauce I was hoping for. The calamari was passable but clearly frozen, lacking the freshness you expect from good tapas. The garlic prawns were cooked well but were surprisingly bland, with only a faint taste of garlic and barely any chilli to speak of. The garlic mushrooms were possibly one of the worst dishes I've ever encountered—wet, rubbery, and utterly devoid of garlic flavour like something out of a tin. And then there was the pasta, which was baffling. I'm not sure how to make pasta taste this poor. Overall, this was one of the more disappointing places I've been to for a meal. The name only was a reason to go, because it reminded us of the pixar movie 'Ron's gone wrong'. The tapas is prepared by a wonderful lady and the waiter noticed us getting cold, because it was a little rainy and chilly outside and he moved the heater towards us, very considerate. The tapas was so fresh and yummy. The chicken croquettas were wonderful and the patatas bravas were the best we had so far. The sauce was so good and a little spicy. I wanted to try tapas as I've never had them before so I ordered green peppers and potatoes stuffed with goat cheese and spinach. What I actually got was green peppers and tortellini. It is my fault that I didn't complain but I thought maybe the waiter didn't understand me so I ate the tortellini. The food was tasty but I was disappointed that I didn't try the tapas I wanted.
