I’m sad to have to give two stars.
My wife and I visited last night, we hadn’t had a curry for a few weeks. It’s our favourite meal back in England where we’re spoilt with an amazing choice of Indian restaurants.
The family who run the restaurant are really nice people.
No for the review.
Starter of onion bhaji wasn’t presented very well at all. The salad that accompanied it was a mess and the bhajis were just too salty.
The main course.
Chicken balti for my wife. We were told it came with cauliflower and mushrooms. So not a proper balti then? No, it’s how the Spanish people like it we were told. So, if it was freshly made why not just leave out the mushrooms and cauliflower?
Well, it came along with mushroom and cauliflower. Not a balti as we know it, very watery and a sad impression of a normally tasty dish. Lacked flavour and seasoning. No spice even though we’d asked for extra chillies. This meal gets a very low 1/5.
My lamb jalfrezi. When it came along it turned into a chicken jalfrezi. The chicken actually tasted ok, I just accepted it and carried on after telling the waiter. He did offer to change it but I said no.
The taste? A bit more spicy than the balti but not a full jalfrezi. Again, very watery and not a lot of taste. 2/5
Our pilau rice with peas arrived without peas.
Nan bread was the best part of the meal.
Bottle of house wine at 13.50 was acceptable but expensive for Spanish pricing.
We did make our opinion known and my wife stated it wasn’t to our taste.
In our defence, we’re not just moaning. We’ve lived in Spain for twelve years and have had fantastic proper Indian food previously so it’s not about how the Spanish people like it, more like how you prefer to dish it up.
Sorry but we will not be returning, you’re very nice people but for 55€ for the two of us I expect authentic tasting fresh Indian food.

Read moreIndia Restaurant has opened its doors to the village of Santanyi 2000. So 23 years ago and has become a staple, not only for the locals, also for the whole islands. It’s is as authentic as it gets. Everyone in the kitchen is from India and you can taste it.
They are open lunch and dinner and even offer a lunch menu for 16€ with a starter and a main curry the whole year around.
There is indoor and outdoor seating on a shaded back terrace. The indoor part is beautifully decorated and the walls are covered in Indian daily life themed paintings.
I’ve been to this place several times and I have a hard time posting food pictures as I always forget to take them when I have the plate in front of me. It’s just so yummy that I can’t wait to dig in. Afterwards I always regret to not have taken a single picture and I promise myself. Next time I will.
The place can be rented for events. I’ve attended a Indian themed wedding at this restaurant and the married couple arrived in the Restaurant’s Ricksha that you will see upfront.
This place is good for dining alone, a couple or with a group. You can bring kids and the dress code is casual.
It’s definitely a nice option to the local cuisine and great for vegetarians who want a little more than...
Read moreVery very very Disrespectful, unnecessarily expensive and food wasn't good at all. The moment we got there we got the impression that we were not welcomed with a smile rather with a bad/sad face and rest of things just went as badly as we were welcomed. Staff there told us that they're expecting all their guests to order the food as Europeans do meaning that order snacks, main course and drinks etc but was very Disrespectful when we placed the order at first and then when we added more curries as we finish the food the staff was even more stressed and not happy with that fact. We paid well over 123 euros for 6 people while staff added extra curry to the total bill which we didn't even order. Overall, staff there do no want INDIANS visiting their restaurant and also take a pride to tell that they expect and get along with all european customers. What a shame !! Earning money using name of India while disrespectful to the indian guests. Overall it was so bad that our entire day was wasted on this island because we choose to eat at this place. If owner of the restaurant is reading this he/she should make sure staff is kind to all their guests and not just to white guests. Avoid this restaurant at all costs while...
