Mollys Irish Bistro & Bar — Restaurant in Santanyí

We have been coming to this amazing family run business for about 16 years now and I can honestly say the standards have never waived. From the minute you walk in the bar you are greeting with such warmth it feels like you are visiting family Aside from the genuine welcome the food and service is outstanding. I always start off with “a few Guinness “ followed by my new favourite dish which is scampi and chips, the scampi has the lightest batter I have ever tasted which is more akin to tempura. The steak and Guinness pie is still a sight to behold with generous amounts of steak cooked in a very tasty sauce. For a change one night I opted for the potato skins and chicken wings which were unbelievable, why I hadn’t tried them for years I will never know. After all that Guinness and quality food I still had room for desert, new for me this year was the Baileys cheesecake which I have to admit I needed help to finish as it’s a big old portion, I also helped out my oldest son( much to his dismay ) with his banoffee pie which was incredible and far too nice not to steal of his plate. I just want to say a huge thank you to Alan, Anne, Paul and Elizabeth for all the years you have treated us like family and made our holiday very memorable ( for those of us who can remember ). Nice Sunday lunch , it this what let them down a bit as not enough ppl as in waiting staff .Our meal would of been fantastic if only our veg bowl to go with our meats was hot ( stone cold ) then there was the wait , and wait for it to return. Spoilt the meal to be honest as food nearly finished by time it EVENTUALLY arrived .Delish meat ,top quality you can obviously tell and plenty of it ( mum had beef I had lamb ,tbf would of liked more of it but its cost lamb does ) but hey ho .Pricey for a Sunday lunch but it's quality stuff so u don't mind as a 1 off treat .pls get more staff or stop overbooking as some ppl are getting left by the wayside ! 🫣 We was going to go bk and try the rest of things on menu, but my mum has a bad knee and only tho it was a 10 min walk from our hotel the heat was too much for her ,but would definitely go bk . We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and always have a lovely meal. The food is amazing. This year we found food still lovely but the service was lacking. We went three times whilst we were in Cala d'Or, each time we were over charged. The first time it was just a bottle of water so we let it go. The second time was two pints so we queried it. The last time we were charged for nine meals when there were eight of us. Each time the owner said my fault but seemed annoyed we had pointed this out.
