El Faro — Restaurant in Santiago del Teide

I'm sorry although we saw allot of mixed reviews we still went here to eat. And like the review our experience was mixed.

Service was good, all staff was super friendly and drinks were served fast. Ambiance was ok we sat outside with a great view to Los Gigantos.

The food was not great I already saw other People leaving with allot food left over. So I thought to go for the pizza. The pizza was not done yet and the dough was still soft and raw not crispy. Also the peperoni was barely hot, If they had left the pizza in for a few minuten It would have...

They have “two menus”. So we checked menu and there wasn’t nothing for us and prices also are very high so we asked about tapas menu, and that one is on wall. So we asked about chopitos (fried baby squids) lady first try to give us a dish from the larger menu, who wasn’t what we asked and later when we asked about tapas again she said it’s 19.99€. I’m really sure that the stuff don’t know nothing about their menu or they having some old ones and try to sell different stuff if someone isn’t checking that much. Highly not recommend this...

We usually don’t eat at unchecked places with low rating, but this time I was pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely amazing. Very simple but tasty. We had Canarian potatoes, pizza and two salads - everything was fantastic!

Our waiter did not know English at all, but some local couple helped us to make an order.

This is definitely not a restaurant, but more like a local taverna, though this was one of the brightest food experiences during the trip, as traditional restaurants cannot be compared with this...
