Really upsetting tonight. The first time we ate here was excellent, this time was very upsetting. Terrible service. We had to ask for everything. We ordered the lobster soup for starters which was served in a tall glass and very over peppered. So much pepper I couldn’t eat it, my partner ate it for me. Very thin and nothing great about spooning soup out of a glass. The kids meals was supposed to be served with salad but we had to ask for it. No fish apart from mackerel and tuna but no white fish option for a restaurant on the sea. I ordered lamb which was under cooked and the potatoes served with it was so hot they burnt my tongue. My partner ordered steak which was blue and had a thick layer of Dijon mustard on it. I tried a bite and it burnt my nose it was so strong. My white wine was not cold enough and just generally no service at all. Last visit here was outstanding and this restaurant is very expensive. We saved money for this meal, spent a lot of money and left feeling upset and...
Read moreFound this place on my first day in Los Gigantes. I can't thank the barman (Pascal?) enough. Made me very welcome on my first day in this new town. This place has excellent service, excellent beer (Spanish and bottled Belgian beer). They also do quality cocktails and wine (I could tell by reactions from other guests, although I didn't try them). They were playing superb Blues music when I arrived. I visited 3 or 4 times over my week there. Excellent every time. On my last full day I had a great long, lazy lunch. Massive prawns beautifully cooked with coriander, parsley and sun-dried tomatoes to start. Then a fantastic fish - Lenguado - oven baked to perfection in a buttery coriander, capers and parsley sauce. Served with green salad and a few new potatoes. All cooked by chef-patron Karl. I loved this fantastic place by the little port and it made my holiday. Well done guys - keep it up. And see...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Karl's Restaurant, and I must say, both the tuna and steak were nothing short of amazing. The tuna was perfectly seared, with a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth texture that showed off the freshness of the fish. Lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection, it was rich yet refreshing, served with a side of vibrant flavors that complemented the tuna without overwhelming it. The steak, on the other hand, was equally impressive. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare as requested, it was tender and juicy, with a deep, robust flavor that made each bite incredibly satisfying. Paired with a well-balanced sauce and sides, the steak was a true highlight. The service was also top-notch, with the staff attentive and welcoming, ensuring the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend Karl's for anyone looking for high-quality seafood and steak in...
