Taberna Santa Maria — Restaurant in Santiago del Teide

I came here and ordered a coffee, waiting for my friend. I asked for the bill and the girl told me the price and I asked if she accepts card, she says no. I asked if there was a cash point near by and she said around the corner then snatch the coffee off the table and walked away. That was the rudest way to treat a customer, she didn't even say anything or give me a chance to say my friend will have cash. Outrageous, uncultured and just plain rude. It's not a surprise the place has such a low rating, with staff like that. It's 2018, get a card machine and spare yourselves any more...

We discovered this place last year- and also this year we were not disappointed!!! Fantastic, traditional Spanish cuisine! Delicious prawns with garlic, traditional prawns and octopus vinegar salad, white wine and delicious crema Catalana served frozen!! Moreover the service was excellent. Ten years at least since I found a place that gets the lowest rating! This gets it because of the staff. Went there 9 May 2019 around 2pm. The staff made it very clear we were unwelcome from the start. Felt like we were in a Fawlty towers show. We only stayed because the service was so bad it was comical.
