Breakfast was good, but the service experience left me wondering.
I ordered combo number 2 for breakfast, paid, and even left a tip. The restaurant wasn’t busy when I arrived, so I sat and waited, expecting the food to be served. After 12 minutes, I went back to the counter and showed my receipt, and only then was I able to pick up my food myself.
The food itself was delicious. Still, I couldn’t help noticing that other white customers around me were served directly at their tables, while I wasn’t. As an Asian (Filipino) guest, I don’t know if this was just an oversight or if I was unintentionally treated differently. The service was welcoming and friendly, there was a gentleman who spoke fluent English, and the food and atmosphere were great!
We ordered a few of the small plates, including the octopus, salad, fried steak, and cured meats, and all were delicious. The salad was the most basic, but everything else was delicious, well seasoned, and great portion sizes.
The wine was great, and the Santiago cake for dessert was so yummy!
