El Figón de los Comuneros — Restaurant in Segovia

So disappointed ! Recommended by our accomodation and good reviews on line but we had an awful experience. Very rude ‘welcome’ by the waitress this afternoon who just pointed at a table. We sat by the bar as it was quite busy and were promptly ignored for about 10 minutes while other people (who arrived after us) were served. Eventually managed to order drinks and food. Moved to a corner table once free. Croquettes arrived quite quickly (and were delicious) but they were literally slapped on the table. Followed around 5 minutes later by blood sausage, again very tasty but shoved at us. We then sat with empty glasses for around 15 minutes while attempting to get someone’s attention for a refill. 20 minutes later after asking after the rest of our order a luke warm watery soup arrived (8€) followed by cold dry chips (7€). No smiles, no please or thank yous from Staff. Not at all what we were...

We were recommended by a tour guide to go to this place to try traditional food. Such a disappointment! It's overpriced for what it is (23euros for cochinillo asado, and it was nothing special, just big peace of overcooked meat and French fries). We also ordered fish, and they brought it literally 5 minutes later, meaning the food is pre-cooked and heated in the microwave before serving. Fish came along, there was no side dish or salad, nothing! Service was poor, not the same treatment for Spanish vs foreigners, to order you have to wait a lot of time. De las tantas búsquedas para comer en Segovia un lugar tan demandado por el cochinillo y el que decidimos y no fue por error ni por casualidad es este comercio y solo porque son unos de los pocos que sirven el cochinillo con algún contorno sea patatas fritas o asadas un gran puntazo.

Otro factor importante es que mueven y hacen fluir a la gente de manera continua, fuimos un sábado y estaba a explotar pero claro está que hicimos reserva antes para no penar.

Llegamos una hora antes pero decimos esperar y no pudimos sentarnos en barra por la cantidad de gente pero la chica que estaba en el host fue increiblemente amable y profesional, buscándome ella misma la bebida con el aperitivo, muy buena atención. Disfrutamos en la entrada en el ir y venir de la gente y con un buen ambiente.

Ya en el restaurante la rapidez y el sabor ya se hacen notar, mesas repletas de comida y un cochinillo bien cocrante por fuera y por dentro jugoso y suave acompañamos con un plato de cuchara y algunas morcillas. Cabe destacar que hay una jarra de litro de cerveza. Hasta las trancas!

Un entrecot muy suave en su punto y para que no se vaya la temperatura te colocan una placa de barro hirviendo, muy buena idea. Los postres increíbles y una tarta segoviana dulce y muy buena para terminar unos buenos orujos.

No nos pusieron pegas por el tiempo, nos atendieron con amabilidad y fueron muy serviciales.

Lo único el por qué no le pongo la máxima puntuación es que deberían cuidar el tema de la limpieza en el suelo, si muy bien entiendo que trabajen con carnes muy grasosas no significa que el suelo pueda ser la piel de un lechón, es muy resbaloso y peligroso al ir con una bebé se hace extremo.
