While waiting in line for Jose Maria we saw this spot right next to it and said might as well grab a snack. I think a lot of their business comes from situations like this and honestly it’ll always be busy.

We walk in and Vicente himself asks if we have a resi (we don’t) and sat us. We notice he’s basically running the show, I mean it is Casa Vicente, and he has three waiters being bussers.

As with anything Spain we decide to get some shareables for the table and ride out. Vicente isn’t playing any games lol and he’s kind of intimidating. I suppose he wants your experience to be what he wants to be.

Lomo 6/10 - just dry dry dry without that much flavor. The juice at the bottom has all the flavor so if you drizzle then you got something.

Croquetas 8/10 - think these might’ve been some of the best we had. Hard crust but perfect interior.

Huevo con Chorizo 8/10 - man this is the best huevo con chorizo I’ve had lol. I’m a big breakfast is never great but never bad guy. This is borderline great.

Vicente has his medals and trophies in his restaurant. It’s clear he’s passionate about it and it’s a good thing. Maybe if we weren’t just grabbing a snack we could’ve tried some of the real menu items. Alas.

My daughter looked at their menu and said: "let's go here!" We were so happy we did! The pasta with Bolognese sauce was uniquely done with -- the sauce had the flavor that we don't find elsewhere -- and she started off with a plate of patatas bravas that turned into a white empty plate quite fast. I asked for the traditional Segovia menu, and picked my three items (a good suggestion in my opinion). Judiones, cochinillo, all done traditionally and right. Service was professional, attentive, and with all the pleasantries we expect from waiters so we return again. We loved Casa Vicente.

Visited as a group of four semi-Spanish fluent American tourists. We didn't need to speak English as the staff were very accommodating, likely used to helping Spanish-learning tourists. Entrées were all tasty and traditional dishes. Pictured are the albóndigas guisadas that I got. The tarta de chocolate was very good but the flan was not as sweet as we expected, but nothing in Europe is sweet to an American. Si vuelvo a Segovia, me encantaría volver a comer en Casa Vicente.
