Before rating the food, I want to say that Hamza was an exceptionally nice young man. Now for the food: Harira and all lamb-based Tajine were not available. No fresh juices either. That's fine, we were hungry and looking for halal food. My wife ordered a mixed plate of kebab (beef and lamb) and tawook. It comes with fries and rice. I ordered mix beef tajine that includes prunes, apricots and almonds. I don't know how to describe the experience. My wife's food came first (apparently they don't time the plates to come together so you have to eat separately!). Everything in her plate was cold except the fries that were fresh hot. She had to send it back for reheating! My Tajine came very hot about 10 minutes later. It was clearly assembled using precooked ingredients and overheated so that i don't complain like my wife did. There was barely any sauce in the dish and everything tasted bland. It's nowhere close to the same dish I had in marrakesh many times 2 years ago. Sorry Hamza but I know it's not your fault. I don't know what the other positive reviews are about (that's why we went there in the first place but boy this was disappointing). The moroccan...
Read moreThis restaurant is one of the BEST places I have ever eaten at. We went in and we did not know what to expect. However, we had amazing food and incredible service. We had not had Moroccan food before. Our waiter gave us recommendations and told us about the menu options. He was very nice and friendly. It was very nice to have so many vegetarian options and many options for non-vegetarians. We had sweet chicken pastela, vegetarian pastela, beef tajine, and vegetarian tajine. The sweet chicken pastela was an amazing meal. My vegetarian daughter said that she would start eating meat again if she could have the chicken pastela. She also described her food as life changing. We loved our food and our experience. The only complaint was that the beef tajine needed a little bit more sauce/stew because it was a bit dry towards the end. The wine was good, the beer was good, and the water was good. The bread was good as well. We wished we could have stayed longer for dessert! It was an overall incredible experience and we would go to this restaurant if we were in...
Read moreDon’t let the kitschy mannequin out front dissuade you. This place deserves to be packed full of people every night. We ordered the chicken pastela and the chicken tajin with olives and lemon. Both were spectacular. The pastela came out first, redolent of sugar, cinnamon and a hint of rose water. The tajin came a little later, succulent and juicy with flavors of olive and lemon, although more lemon would have been great. The accompanying couscous is the best we’ve ever eaten. The proprietor is unassuming but clearly proud of his establishment. If you are in Seville and need a break from the ubiquitous tapas - or even just want to experience the Moorish food that accompanies the architecture you’ve been spending so much time seeing - you have to make a trip here. It’s worth the effort of finding this hidden gem. Best meal we’ve...
