To start with, we waited 15 minutes for a waiter to come to take the first drink order, our waving did get the attention of the poor stressed waiters that were really busy serving other tables. But I would hope that an empty table with more than six people without any drinks or food would call the attention of a waiter or at least the person in charge of the place.
By the time we got our first course on the table, some of us at our table did not get a plate to eat from, we asked for plates from two different waiters, no plate came. When the waiters took away our first course this was commented to a waiter on spot, they were sorry about it. Note that one person at our table still didn't get a plate for the first course.
Main course, some people at our table would give four stars and some of us less. Delicious saltimbocca. The pizza dough was soft and not so pleasant to eat, I did read the comments from guest and the owners answers concerning the dough, but I do prefer my pizza dough more crunchy. I would say the dough was way too humid and soft. The topping of the pizzas were ok, thanks.
When it was time to order desserts some of us didn't feel like ordering more things because perhaps we would have to stay much much longer to wait for the dessert a long time. When we asked for a dessert made out pizza dough with Nutella we were told that it was not served because it was after 23.00 aclock, in the end we did get this dessert because the waiter asked the chef to turn in the oven again, THANKS! 👍🏼 The irony here is THE TIME, we had to wait a long time for the waiters to take our orders and on top of that we also had to wait pretty much for the main course to be served. If everything went a bit fast we would not had to bother the chef to turn on the oven again, poor guy.
They took the wrong liquor for one person at our table, they were sorry and changed it without charging the faulty.
I would say that if the waiters would get some more help or some more experience, this restaurant would get more stars from me at least. If it's meant to be that the pizza dough should be that soft and watery, that might be fine to other guests, just...
Read moreAfter extensive searching on Google, we stumbled upon Amore Mio – and what a fantastic find! Drawn in by the glowing reviews and mouthwatering food photos, we simply had to give it a try. Spoiler alert: it exceeded all our expectations!
From the moment we arrived, we were positively surprised. The restaurant immediately gave off a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a beautiful open-air terrace, a traditional stone oven, and a live pizza station that added to the authentic Italian charm.
We were welcomed with genuine friendliness and invited to choose our own table. Menus were promptly provided, and we were spoiled for choice – everything sounded delicious!
What sets Amore Mio apart is their dedication to quality. The pasta is made fresh daily, and the pizza dough is rested for 48–72 hours, resulting in an incredibly light, airy base.
We finally decided on the Pizza Gamba and Pappardelle porcine mushrooms. The food arrived quickly, and even just the presentation brought a smile to our faces. After a previous disappointing Italian experience on the island, this meal looked and felt like the real deal.
The pizza was absolutely spot on – perfectly seasoned and made with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The Burrata on top was particularly outstanding!
The Pappardelle was equally delicious. The sauce and porcini mushrooms were divine – rich, creamy, and full of flavor. If I had to be ultra-picky, the pasta could have been a touch more al dente, but it was still absolutely delightful. We were also served fresh pizza bread on the side, which was simply amazing.
What made the experience even more memorable was the exceptional service. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even brought our daughter a complimentary portion of spaghetti – such a thoughtful gesture!
Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We are already looking forward to our next visit. Amore Mio is a must-visit if you're in the area and love authentic Italian...
Read moreWe went here this evening to have dinner. It was a little bit further from our stay in comparison to the nights before, but it was well worth the walk. It’s located slightly more on the interior of Cala Millor, but seeing the number of people joining us on the terrace, the place seems quite popular. Here’s our review:
The good: If you like to have a more genuine experience than being table to table on the edge of the boulevard, you will like the location. Hosts are great, although they are sometimes running to keep up with the number of guests. When I decided to take some of the work out of their hands to grab some small plates and cutlery for the kids, they did not mind it at all and even thanked me for it.
We had bruschette as starters, both the classic ones as the Napolitean ones. Both made fresh with great taste. The kids had a plate of gnocchi alla sorrentina and a spaghetti aglio e olio (not on the menu, but made on request), which they both devoured because they liked it that much. We ate pata de pulpo, paccheri al ragú, rodaballo con gambas and a pizza tartufo. The pulpo was the best we ate so far, the rodaballo was cooked perfectly as were the vegetables on the side, and the lovely pasta al ragú went great with the Valpolicella we drank on the side. Best dinner in Cala Millor so far. We concluded with tiramisú, panna cotta and brownies with icecream: All very tasty. We made a dash to the hotel afterwards to get the kids in bed, but we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy the ambiance. Prices are very reasonable in relation to what you are served.
The bad: Nothing much. Maybe the fact that one of the connected tables we sat on was a bit wobbly, but nothing a folded napkin could not solve.
The verdict: Definitely go here if you like Italian food. We would not hestitate...
