Dos Pins Can Xeret — Restaurant in Son Servera

I went because i wanted a local place away from the tourist noise and it had good reviews, so below is my honest experience in August 2024

First i have to say the people running the business are really kind and polite…….BUT the food was poor.

1. i was told by the waiter that you need to call and place an order for paiella a day before - which is fair enough, but i did not know. ps: i have heard it’s meant to be good.

2. Since no paiella, my partner and i ordered garlic prawns and octopus with a drink, the prawns had 0 taste, was like prawns boiled and mixed with oil - no salt , no garlic, nothing - honestly i have traveled all over spain numerous times and this was worst garlic prawns i have even eaten + the bread was dry and not something you would serve in a restaurant to people. The octopus was average, but acceptable.

3. price was fine but for the quality i had it was way too much, could have had a better meal at a random restaurant by the sea.

in conclusion maybe i just had bad luck but i wish the establishment...

I wouldn’t recommend. The place is located outside of the scenic area. We came and there were a couple tables free, we waited for a bit and the waitress saw us. After a minute or so, since nobody came we just took a table. Then the lady immediately came with “not allowed, reserved”, there was no sign on either of the tables 🤷🏻‍♀️ We moved to another one, the rest of the evening we were served by a very nice man (looked like the owner). Böse Überraschung bei der Rechnung, keine vegetarischen Gerichte, Qualität und Geschmack waren ok.

Habe die gemischte Fischplatte bestellt und dabei gefragt was es denn koste, laut Inhaber beliefen sich die Kosten auf 16,50€. Das schien mir etwas günstig, also fragte ich nocheinmal nach und es wurde mir wieder versichert "16,50€ pro Person". Dann fragte ich erneut ob es denn für NUR eine Person bei diesem Preis bleiben würde, und wieder wurde mir dies bestätigt.

Umso überraschter waren wir dann bei der Rechnung, als die (zwar leckere, dennoch ohne Beilagen servierte) Fischplatte für 36€ berechnet wurde. Auf Nachfrage wurde behauptet dass Fisch nunmal teuer sei, und dass sich da nichts ändern kann.

Zudem wurden Brot, Oliven und Aioli ungefragt auf den Tisch gestellt und natüich auch berechnet - was jetzt an sich aber nicht dramatisch gewesen wäre.

Laut Rezensionen ist es in der Vergangenheit wohl öfter passiert, dass die Rechnung nicht immer nachvollziehbar war und deutlich höher ausgefallen ist.

Am Besten bei Tagespreisen sich den Preis davor schriftlich geben lassen. Wir werden das...
