Food poisoning on a plate and overcharged.
What a disaster. I took my family out to tonight for my mother in law's 60th birthday celebrations. My father and mother in-law, my wife, 4 children (1 of my children has special needs). We ordered food and were served wine. Everything was going as well as could be. We asked them to serve the kids meals first, so that they would not be impatient. The kids food arrived 15 mins later. No problem . This is where the issues started. We waited nearly another hour before asking politely where our food was and ordering ice cream for the kids. The ice cream came for the kids and then about another 15 minutes later our food was served. My wife and mother and father in-laws food was decent/good, well say 6.5-7 out of 10 though extremely late. Mine was really poor. For the first time in my life, I sent my food back. Food poisoning on a plate, is an understatement. I waited another 30 minutes before the kids who had finished their desert long ago, were now getting restless, (adults also were finished their food). I informed staff to forget about my meal, and again, politely asked for the bill.... Here's where it gets good... THEY CHARGED ME FOR MY MEAL, THAT I DIDN'T GET SERVED!! 🤣 complete chancers. I'm an easy going guy, and I hate conflict. I informed them I didn't have any steak, and asked if they could omit it from the bill, expecting them to offer some sort of discount given this insane ordeal. It was like faulty towers. They omitted the steak, and that was it. 😂 I just laughed, and paid what they asked by card. I understand they probably had a bad day/performance, all businesses can suffer that, but if you underperform, you make amends. Nope, not here. They just look for the next tourist, and to hell with anyone, they'll take whatever money you have! 😂 All I can do is laugh at this stage. Joke, disaster, avoid at all costs, scammers. The only thing the night was missing was the chef coming from the kitchen and personally spitting at all of...
Read moreAs some who follow me are aware a 5 star is only given when earned . And Da Vinci in Lanzarote certainly earned it. I always order a mixed grill when I see it on a menu and gives you and over all look at their meat and cooking skills . Well it did that. The mixed grill was massive chips excellent meat perfectly done medium rare steak and chops and chicken steak and lots of fresh veg . We also got a pizza for the young lad and it was in his eyes anyway as you can see perfection. The spaghetti Bolognese was savoury well seasoned and perfect portion size. The fajitas where so wholesome and flavourful so good the mother in law had to ask for 2 more wraps so she could finish it . The Bolognes also came with a small little cup of parmasen . Father in law had the lasagne which he devoured and he's picky enter at the best of times and the dessert put smiles all across the table . The staff are wonderful the food was quick the drinks where quick and nice NOT CHEAP free shots complimentary after it. And for 6 people all had 3-4 drinks each including wine and spirits 150 euro all in you can't go wrong for that it's a gem of a place all rolled out of it happy and not hungry. Clean organised and truly a wonderful spot to find 5 mins walk from the awful all inclusive we where staying in .updating to show the breakfast and the amazing cappuccino I had it's brill worth a...
Read moreWent towards the end of the evening after a few drinks up the road and were approached by one of the staff members. We said we weren’t really hungry just wanted a few chips. Wasn’t sure if the waiter was drunk or just impatient and he was somewhat standoffish. Myself and my partner have customer service backgrounds ourselves and never go out of our way to make someone’s job harder for them.
We sat down and he offered us a drink, which we ordered. And then asked if we wanted anything else. We had just seen a table of four be served their food. So we asked if we could perhaps share a pizza. He then huffed and got us menus and just dropped them on the table and said the kitchen was closed. We said not to worry but then he insisted.
Food was really nice, but when it came to paying, he told us the bill was 26 euros, then when he typed the numbers in the card machine, he put in €58 and tried to hide the figure. I was naturally not very happy and he tried to play it off as a mistake. Luckily I made sure to check the number on the screen. As I say, I’m not sure if he was a bit tipsy or perhaps just really tired at the end of a busy day, but that’s really not okay.
Please, if you’re not happy for someone’s custom don’t ask for it. We happily would have just eaten the chips and gone elsewhere for...
