Yet another lovely meal with my adopted Family
We wondered over to the Palace of India 🇮🇳 at 6.30pm and the restaurant was very quiet We had our widow seat for 4
STARTER
Chicken Chaat 8/10
I ordered the Chicken chaat for a Starter Well presented with bags of flavour but sadly over seasoned but I don't use salt so maybe my Sensitive Palete
MAINS
Rogen Josh 8/10
I asked for a mixed Rogen Josh as it doesn't appear on the menu I settled with Chicken and Lamb
The tast was as it should and had the right amount of meats in a rich well balanced and spicy sauce🌶 🌶 👌
SIDES
Tandoori Roti was a bit on the thin side hence it was dry
Garlic Naan Could of done with being a little larger and more Garlic Butter
Pilau Rice Nice size portion for 1 Could of done with slightly more Pilau seasoning
Tandoori Roti 7/10 Garlic Naan 8/10 Pilau Rice 8/10
Service was excellent as always ! Servers were Tentative and polite but sadly one of the servers was wearing a Black Leather body warmer and Jumper type jacked
I wasn't sure if he was a customer or The bin man at first
I Was shocked that he was serving 😱
Dress Code Always should be Smart in a Restaurant and Consistent with all the servers not looking like they have just walked off the street 🤔
Overall The Palace of India 🇮🇳 8/10 ...
Read moreAfter looking for somewhere to eat, we saw that Palace of India has some good reviews so thought we would give it a try and were looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't very good. The food was ok but nothing amazing. We have had much better curries elsewhere. We also asked for a table for 2 and were told we would have to sit outside as they were booked up inside. We were a bit disappointed but thought fair enough at the time. Once outside we noticed that there were 3 tables inside available for 2 that were not occupied from us arriving to leaving so we could have sat inside after all. Outside there were cockcroaches scuttling around which isn't great when you are trying to enjoy a meal and it was quite a chilly evening. As we were outside on our own for most of the evening, there wasn't much atmosphere. The staff were attentive though as we were worried we might have been forgotten about so that was good. We visit Lanzarote often and I wouldn't go back to Palace of India due to our experience. There are better Indian restaurants on the island that offer a much...

So the food and drinks here are fantastic and we highly recommend. Ok we aren't dangerous, loving a mild Tikka masala and a medium lamb dopiaza. While not spicy or even an Indian dish, it's what I like. And this chicken Tikka masala was one of the best I have had in a long while. My starter, the sheek kebab, something I hadn't tried before. It wasn't so spicy but both wifey and I also loved this. The wifey had the dopiaza, and the onions were cooked beautifully. A great dish that we both enjoyed. Afterwards there are two pubs right out the door. So either a relaxing pint afterwards or a great Indian after watching the match. A great combo in a great area, and we...
