Not quite sure why this place gets so many 5 star reviews. May be the 5 star reviewers are suffering with long term Covid symptoms and have lost the ability to taste and smell their food. This restaurant sells low budget chinese food which in my opinion is of sub standard quality. The fried chicken has black meat. So decided to have a little moan about the black chicken and the lady said its because its fried .... So why is my fried chicken at home white. The ribs were chewy and completely inedible. The noodles were served with no beansprout which was my mistake. However I was not informed of the other food choices available when ordering. The spring rolls are full of white cabbage and no other ingredients which makes them tasteless and one dimensional. The staff member was very friendly but in my opinion completely unattentive and way to busy eyeing up passing trade. The Sprite had no taste couldn't drink it. And the water was served to the table at room temperature in a bottle with a glass and no ice. Not a great experience unfortunately.
The positives are Great view looking out to sea. Great curry sauce. Great sweet and sour sauce. Comfy chairs. Great price. Analysis. If you have no taste buds and you like cheap Chinese food this is the place...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Great Wall, and it was nothing short of an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The decor is tasteful, with traditional Chinese elements that create an elegant yet cozy setting.
The menu is a perfect blend of authentic Chinese flavors with modern twists. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece. The duck dishes were absolutely divine—crispy skin, succulent meat, and served with perfectly steamed pancakes. The soups were another highlight; each spoon-sized portion was bursting with flavor and incredibly fresh. The chicken dishes were perfectly spiced, and the sauces had just the right balance of heat and silkiness.
What truly stood out was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring our dining experience was flawless from start to finish. They made us feel like honored guests, without being intrusive.
For anyone looking to indulge in authentic Chinese cuisine, Great Wall is a must-visit. Whether you're a fan of classic dishes or looking for something unique, this restaurant delivers in every way possible. I can't...
Read moreStopped off at the Great Wall for Smoothies yesterday. The woman who approached us was rude and impatient as we were making up our minds what to order. She stood with a face like thunder pressuring us to hurry up. We'd barely had a chance to catch our breath. We ordered 2 pina coladas and a tropical. She brought down the order saying, 2 pina coladas and a mango. I said, no, I didn't order tge mango, I ordered the tropical and she literally refused to change it, telling me mango was a tropical fruit, so tough. I told her that the tropical Smoothie didn't have mango in its ingredients and that what she was giving me was the mango and pear. The picture of the tropical Smoothie on the menu was pink/berry colour. This was pure mango!! Again, I was told too bad. My daughter was getting embarrassed as people were watching this ridiculous stand off and said she would have the mango Smoothie instead. If I hadn't been thirsty I'd have walked out. I probably should have. Literally, she was the rudest, most aggressive, unapologetic, downright cheekiest woman I have ever met. So, take my advice and STEER CLEAR!!!...
