The GuinnessTavern Playa Grande — Restaurant in Tías

I eat for first time in this restaurant on 28/6/24 and I was shocked by the plate of food that was handed to my friend.. Not alone that , but the waiter acted disgracefully , blamed the customer it was her fault because she asked for gravy on the side …. Omg I attaching the photos , she went for dinner with Turkey and as you see it totally dry and burned ! My sense reheated or over heated ! So , it was so hard you definitely couldn’t eat it ! No one … not any one apologised when she refused to eat it or even said they were sorry ! So I rating them a one star if I could give them a zero star I would … Honestly customer’s service was disgraceful ! The person serving the table hadn’t a clue but more so didn’t care … I had food and attaching photos and it was so so .. The canary potatoes are supposed to have salt on them … not quite sure but to me they were basic boiled potatoes no salt ! Prices are so so . On this holiday to Matagorda Lanzorate, I have to say , that the majority of the restaurants are excellent except for this one ..and one other .. I highly recommend you ask for sauce on the side so you can see what you eat !! Previously passing by this place , it always seemed busy … but maybe it was a bad day ! But own up to it and...

Stopped for a drink at lunchtime after a long walk along Pochillos Beach, lovely setting, and saw there was live music advertised. So as we were eating at nearby El Jameos (very reliable restaurant) that evening made a point of heading here for the 'live' entertainment. Wham a sham, one guy who couldn't sing playing mostly YouTube videos , sang (!?!?) a couple of songs reading the lyrics from the screen with his hand in his pocket. Tried to turn the evening into Karaoke, but it was really awful. To top it all off, asked for the bill for drinks, but waiter didn't seem interested. Had to go to the bar to settle up where they tried to round the bill up to the nearest 5 euros. It could be good on other nights, but this was like a bar just taken over by a bunch of mates trying to make a few quid whilst the regular staff had a day off (it was a Sunday...

Visited around 6pm, looked like there was something on the menu for all the party.

Roast beef dinner was terrible, beef was extremely dry, a steak knife would have been better to cut it. Gravy was like watery bisto. Veg was horrible tasting, Yorkshire pudding was hard, not crispy, hard. Screamed of yesterday’s food.

Another person had fish and chips, I was told it was rubbery, I tried to cut into the fish with my knife and couldn’t, bounced back into shape when I removed the knife.

Another person had a pizza, so much cheese on it, it was inedible.

When these comments were made to the waiter he said “he’d mention it to the manager.

Food on the pricier end of the scale compared to other places so expected better.
