I love this restaurant. Fantastic quality traditional Canarian food. It's a must go for anyone visiting Lanzarote. The clientele is mostly local fishermen which tells you all you need to know about the quality of the food which is second to none. There are a lot of properly traditional Canarian dishes such as potaje canarios (a hearty soup with gofio) and estofada de cabra (goat stew) which are simply amazing. The seafood dishes are all second to none, with locally caught fresh seafood front and centre. If you are lucky enough to have cherne on the menu you simply have to have it!
Apart from the fantastic food, the staff are lovely and also appreciate you trying your Spanish and happy to help out. It turns out that "my eyes are bigger than my belly" is aphrase in Lanzarote as well as Scotland!
The general vibe of the restaurant is relaxed and friendly. It's tastefully decorated in a l cosy nautical style and gets busy and loud later on in typical Spanish style.
In summary,a fantastic traditional Canarian restaurant with exceptional quality, fresh local ingredients. A must visit in Lanzarote

Read moreHad great expectations after reading reviews but was not impressed. Maybe it is just me, I was looking some place to have grilled fishes as I am mad about it.. So ordered platter for two as main, calamari and octopus on bread as starters and meat balls for my 5 year old boy..the starters were alright, the squid was bit rubbery.. The meat balls looked excellent and the sauce was really good but while cutting thru few of them for my boy I got the feeling that it was bit hard and so I tried few pieces and soon realised it was ice cold in the centre.. The meat balls were not fully cooked. Told the girl and she took it back and heated the same and bought it back.. My boy lost the appetite by then.. The fish platter was very bland and not much grilled.. The fish wheel I had from the plaza the other day was much better.. The fish felt more strange than grilled and not much flavour.. The only thing going for the dish was the freshness of the fish..you could taste the fresh fish.. Overall my experience...
Read moreWe stayed in Lanzarote for one week and were fortunate to have some wonderful meals around Puerto de Carmen (La Cascada excellent, Everest excellent, Vino + very good, Confradia de Pescadores good) but this restaurant in the old harbour was the star of the show, so much so that we visited 3 times. We were very well looked after by Kasia who was welcoming, warm and patient, and explained all the dishes to us in depth. The restaurant was frequented by both locals and tourists (who had done their homework). Food was sublime - fresh authentic local produce and dishes cooked to perfection by the owner. We particularly enjoyed the goat stew (fabulous), tomato and garlic salad, Gambas al ajillo, and pescado al caprichio (breaded fish in mushroom and prawn sauce), and spinach croquettes. Mojo verde and roco were superb. Prices were very competitive- lower than surrounding venues.
This is a must go to destination if you want to taste the real flavours of Lanzarote prepared by people who care about...
