My partner and I initially decided to eat at the café because the scenery was inviting, the food prices seemed reasonable and the menu had a good range of breakfast options, including gluten free. The food quality was average and the service was fairly quick, however, they did get part of our order wrong. The waitress was initially friendly and patient when taking our order, however, things quickly began to turn sour. Whilst waiting for our food to arrive, my partner and I wanted to have a cigarette. We collected an ash tray from another table and were considerate enough to choose a table at the back away from other customers who may not have appreciated the cigarette smoke. The owner then came outside and asked us not to smoke near a public footpath, which, admittedly, seemed bizarre, but we obliged and put the cigarettes out. Shortly after, the owner's wife/waitress came over with our food and asked us again not to smoke there, athough the cigarettes were already out. When my partner tried to explain that we were refraining from blowing smoke over the other customers, she decided to give her unwarranted and unprofessional opinion on smoking saying "Yes, but I don't like it". In terms of constructive feedback, this situation could have been avoided by placing non-smoking signs on certain tables and refraining from passing judgemental comments to customers which made us feel very uneasy. (Stars deducted after the owner's pretentious response. Please note in case they edit their response they referred to 2 cigarettes exposed to the open elements as a "cloud of smoke". P.S. glue the ashtrays to the tables or as our constructive criticism says "better signage would help with the matter" as in any other establishment the ashtraysare free to move when in an outdoor...
Read moreSimon's wife is the most ignorant, horrible host I have ever met. I am surprised they have any customers at all the way she speaks to them. I've been frequenting there establishment for years , but not anymore. She is a despicable person with no manners. How you simon put up with her , I'm astonished. You are in the wrong job lady. Give it up. My wife and disabled brother visited you establishment last night in order to buy food to take away. When my wife asked if she could order, she was met by a flat no. There was no explanation of any sort. But this is not the first time we have experienced your wifes rudeness. It is not acceptable to be spoken to in that manner. I accept that you work long hours but that too does not excuse this attitude. Being short staffed is not my concern, this is your business and I would expect it to be run adequately. You simply can not run a business in...
Read moreWe came to Lanzarote for a week in June and we ventured away from the hotel complex once late into our holiday to which I now regret! I looked online for good evening entertainment and came across the Highlander Too bar. They did evening Bingo, quizzes and raffles. Seemed ideal as we were with my 9 year old son. On arrival we were told you had to book to eat but we only wanted to drink and participate in the games to which the very helpful waitress grabbed a table and chairs and made us feel very welcome. So the entertainment began and we started with part of a quiz and then took a break by doing bingo (Cash prizes!) Play your cards right, pig racing (Toy ones) and other ones! (We won 30 EUR too!) It was a brilliant night and we were finished for midnight on which the same waitress graciously called us a taxi to get back. Great night and will visit again next year but more than...
