Bar Cafe Las Cuatro Esquinas — Restaurant in Tarifa

Not the best experience, quite frankly. No English menu and not the slightest effort on the part of the waitress to help us figure out the dishes, despite our best attempts at speaking Spanish. No olives were offered as the customary aperitif, we had to ask for them when we noticed that others were getting them. The waitress was visibly less jovial with us than with other - presumably local - customers. We came with a small child and would have appreciated a more welcoming attitude. Food was fairly ordinary, although the prawns aioli and pitchos gambones were very good. Pity, as this was our first mediocre eating-out experience a week into our otherwise great stay in this part of Spain. Wish we’d explored the old town for other places instead of settling for the first bar past...

Lovely little bar, not insisting that you have food as many of the other places in this town are..we had beer and coffee, went and ordered at the bar as we prefer, lovely girl served us and the coffee came out quickly and piping hot as it should be.. They even let others eat their cakes brought from a close patisserie with their drinks.. A lovely place and...

Una estrella me parece mucho para el trato recibido por parte de las camareras, llegamos al bar a las 15:00h y nos comentan que la cocina está cerrada y solo tienen tapas frías, aceptamos y nos sentamos. Cuando empezamos a pedir nos comenta que ya quedan muchas menos tapas frías de las que nos decía en un principio por lo que pensamos pues nos vamos, y ahí es cuando nos responde y nos dice algo así como "a la hora que llegáis", asombrada respondo que en España se come a las 14:30/15:00h, no me parece una hora desorbitada. Aún así no cuestiono los horarios que quieran poner, simplemente si no está el servicio que requiero lo lógico es levantarse e irse sin que la camarera cuestione nada. Al par de minutos escuchamos a otra camarera gritar desde dentro "a mí nadie me dice a qué hora tengo que cerrar" quedándonos todavía más asombrados, puesto que nosotros en ningún momento cuestionamos nada antes que la camarera nos cuestionara a nosotros.
