Bar La marmota — Restaurant in Tazacorte

Best place ever to observe the Sunset! But worse food and service in the area. It is true service takes forever. It is true you raised a concern and it is not taken seriously. Our burgers were really cold. I complained about it and the fact the taste was horrible, they just deducted the cost of a beer which is three euros. Be aware the meat of the burgers is not beef. It is not disclosed anywhere, the meat we were told was veal mixed with pork. None of us liked it and actually, two of us left them almost completely. Alcoholic drinks do not have much alcohol but cannot complain because of their price. Food is messy, greasy, has an awful taste and definitely leaves you affected for a while.

But... Will definitely come back for the Sunset and 'Ladrón de Manzanas' Frutos Rojos.

When we arrived, we were told by the owner to wear a mask while seated for the two minutes until our drinks arrived, which seemed completely unnecessary and nonsensical. On the other hand, they clearly have no shame in breaching EU consumer laws, by failing to include value added tax (IGIC) in the menu prices, instead quietly adding it to the bill afterwards. When we pointed this out to him, he clearly seemed to recognise that they had been breaking the law. As a consumer rights lawyer, I pointed out that two other restaurants in La Palma were fined recently for this practice. It is such a shame than rather being up-front with costumers, they try to squeeze a few extra euros out of them when presenting the bill. Avoid - the food is bland and there are better options in...

Great location and atmosphere but they try rip you off. Gins all listed and nowhere mentions tonic but it's 1.50 extra. Tonight ordered large beer on menu 3e. Got bill, charged 4e. Challenged and it got discounted as i didn't ask for the 4e beer. Also here and 2 nearby restaurants add 7% to bill. Nowhere else on la Palma does this, even the capital and tourist place of los cancajos. Only a few places in Tazacorte do. They must think they're in America. Shame as it's spoiling the place as we feel like they're ripping tourists off now. Visited 5 different years but will go elsewhere and not recommend. When you stay here long term it adds up and leaves a sour taste. Oh.... and no soap in either...
