I visited here with my wife and my sixteen year old daughter, we had walked up and down Moraira for a while and we had built up an appetite so decided on the Del Pescador. We were shown to a table and ordered the food, my wife had Monkfish, my daughter had lamb chops and I had the chicken in almond sauce. We also ordered drinks, 2 large beers and a fanta orange. Going off the menu prices for the food, it worked out at €55 for the food, we knew the beers would be about €4 each and the fanta would probably be €3, so all in all about €66. Whilst we were waiting for the food, we were offered 3 small slices of tomato with mozzarella on it and 3 olives, we were told these were "gratis" (free), the waiter also put 3 small bread buns on the table and walked off without saying anything. The food was at best "okay", my chicken was very dry and the chips were cold, also the med veg was just basically reheated mush! My wife said the fish was quite nice, but my daughter left quite a lot of hers as she said the chips were cold and the med veg tasted horrid. At the end, we asked for the bill and it arrived... to our horror, it was €89.20, which basically meant that the 3 bread buns and the tomatoes (which we were told were free) added €23 to the total we had worked out... we were so disappointed we just paid and left.... Would I go back...

Lovely seaside town which is a must visit and stay if you have time. We stopped here for lunch when the restaurant was still fairly empty.
The waiter was friendly and explained some of the dishes.
The caprese salad was nicely presented and tasted nice but lacked a little salt for on the tomato. The croquettes were cooked nicely and tasted good. The Gazpacho unfortunately was too acidic. Perhaps too much vinegar was added. The croutons it was served with were also extremely oily which made them sickly to eat. The squid had a nice flavour, however the texture was too chewy. Perhaps over cooked. Finally the mussels, which were cooked nicely, unfortunately we found a few too many beards which left a bad taste in my mouth every 5th mussel.
The restaurant has potential, with nice esplanade location (no sea views). But needs a little work in the kitchen to warrant the...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant as a party of 6. 1 of our guests has a severe nut allergy. We handed the waiter a card with details of the allergy clearly written in Spanish. He advised that a bread roll was out of the question but the spaghetti bolognese was ok? It was clear that he had just presumed that the allergy was to gluten and even if it was spaghetti bolognese would have been out of the question. This resulted in our guest feeling uncomfortable eating anything as the allergy was not given the attention it required. As our food order had already been processed we had no choice but to remain but the evening was spoiled due to this. The service was extremely slow even though there was plenty of staff. Do not visit if you have allergies that could be life threatening as it seemed to be glossed over...
