Our recent visit to Stelis Restaurant was our third time, and we were looking forward to having a meal there when we decided to go out of town for a drive down the coast. Once there, we noticed a few changes. The staff were efficient enough, but I have to admit they lacked the exuberance of previous visits. In the grand scheme of things, that didn't matter because we were there for the good food.
When we ordered the Mediterranean meat dish, the staff didn't or forgot to ask us how we wanted the steak. When our plates arrived, although the lamb chops were cooked to perfection and delicious, the beef was chewy, and the lamb filets were overcooked. The tzatziki was great, but the salad was disappointing, considering there are many vibrant salads to choose from using local produce. It was, in fact, a bland, colourless, and limp finely chopped iceberg salad we got as a side dish. Now, it would have been great if the dish had been served with pita bread, as it was in previous times, but I guess a cost-cutting agenda is at play. I understand prices go up, and I, like many people, can see the evidence in the daily expenses. Personally, I would have paid extra for a complete and well-presented dish, and I think future clients wouldn't mind paying extra if the food was well-sourced, cooked with love, and presented with care.
Please take this comment on board as constructive criticism, not as some mean remark from a disgruntled client, as we've enjoyed the food we've had there in the past. The establishment has a lot of potential, and I hope, one day, to comment on a more...
Read moreWe found here by walking the area for a restaurant and when greeted by the smaller Indian waiter he seemed a little hostile.
We made our order and when one of the dishes came it was wrong. We explained it wasnt our dish to the lady who i think may be the owner and was waiting for vine leaves and she was great however the smaller India waiter was challenging, thrusting the menu in our faces and saying we had ordered the bean dish as we explained no we had not and said he had misunderstood it was the dish above the vine leaves he was speking in his language to his Indian colleague and his face was disgusting the way he dealt with it
The lady simply said no problem and returned with the vine leave and gave us the bean dish for free which was very kind.. It was one of the cheapest items on the menu so it made no sense why we would want to "fake order" the items.
The food was really nice especially the feta in filo with honey and the vine leaves but unfortunately the experience wasnt great due to the waiters attitude from the moment we arrived with us and other guests and the way he performed over a...
Read moreIf you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, look no further than this family run Greek restaurant. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful. But what really set this meal apart was the geek yogurt and medium spicy dip - they added just the right amount of tang and heat to make every bite even more delicious.
But it's not just the food that makes this restaurant stand out - the service was also exceptional. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our meal. And at 80 euros for two people for lunch, we felt like we got great value for our money.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of Greek cuisine or just looking for something new to try, you won't be disappointed.
