This place is exactly what we were hoping for and more. We tried to get a table earlier in the day (around 2pm) but the place was rammed with no chance of a table without waiting a fair while, so we reserved for later in the evening. When we arrived, the waiter recognised my wife, who had made the appointment and escorted us both to our seats... from there, the spectacle began. We were served by an extremely professional, friendly, and efficient waiter named Javi, who looked after us all night by making recommendations and explaining any dishes we were uncertain of. Everything we ate was spot on from Murex snails to octopus (I've eaten octopus all around the world, it's my favourite, and the octopus I had was some of the best I've ever tasted... on a bed of lovely soft potatoes, LOADS of roasted garlic, a little chilli... and the octopus was so soft and melted in the mouth! Drooling just thinking about it!!). We supped the house white wine (also delicious) and the draught lager (cold, crisp with a creamy head). Were given complimentary bread and olives at the start & even complimentary dessert/sweet wine after we'd asked for the bill. For 70€, we had an outstanding experience... much of it, thanks to Javi, who smiled with us and made us feel part of the furniture from the start in this understandably popular little Bodega in the heart of Torremolinos. 100%...
Read moreThe BEST restaurant and meal so far in Spain, after 3 weeks here. The chef Philipe and entire staff were awesome. We serendipitously had a table 5 feet from the open kitchen, and every dish looked fantastic. I said "I want that" to the chef, who warming said, "Warch out! You're going to say that about every dish", and he was right. We made fasr friends so I told him. Just give me 4 dishes (tapas) of your choice. Well now it was game on with the entire staff. They were bringing us wines and amazing dishes. Philip made us a special Calamari and special Sole dish not on the menu. Gave us a free octopus appetizer as his gift to us that was amazing, on the house after dinner drinks. Everyone was enthusiastic trying to have us fall in love with their restaurant and city. And boy did we. Certainly one of my top 5 restaurants in the world, both for the food, and the staff, and...
Read more8/10 The food was overall very good, with some personal part dislikes. What did I eat? Chopitos, (small squid) Almejas, (Med Clams) Boquerones frites en Lemon, (Fried Anchovies with lemon) Prawns in PilPil sauce
Chipitos 10/10 The Squid was served with the Restaurants, made ink making the taste much better. It was cooked perfectly and had a reasonable amount per person.
Almejas 7.5/10 The Clams had a nice sauce and werent too small, they served 20 in a portion however the clams taste was overpowered by the sauce abit.
Fried Anchovies 8/10 The anchovies had a good covering, perfect taste and a good amount of lemon added to the taste. There could've been a bit more Anchovies.
Prawns 5.5/10 They only served 8 prawns, they were small, and they didnt have a lot of taste. Good Sauce however.
I reccomend the squid, good...
