got a bit lost so decided to pop in for a sangria with the wife . walked in and im assuming there was gaelic sport on and a few people watching the tv . a couple of customers eating and a massive fan blowing in the pub . nothing major but felt unwanted as eyes where staring . went to the bar ordered sangria ( felt i shouldnt be in there ) it was brought outside to us by a less than happy looking woman . i paid and also gave a tip and she went back in . the sangria was warm with 3 cubes of ice ffs man no effort was made as it was hanging , tasted terrible . after the experience we had we just got up and left . me being scottish with irish family and my wife who is welsh are usually known for there cheery and welcoming nature sadly didnt experience it in here . i know you shouldnt judge on 1 visit but this was our experience and it wasnt the welcoming irish bar you...

I decided to go to an Irish Pub for set menu Christmas Dinner. My thoughts were that it would be friendly and fun like the Irish and the Christmas dinner would feel familiar. I was wrong. The pub was loud with live music, but not Irish music. It was Bob Dylan, Jimmy Buffett etc. The only person that spoke with me was the waitress. I tried to make small talk but to no avail. I arrived 15 minutes early at 1:45 and thought I would have a pint or two. I sat at my table for almost 90 minutes before my first course arrived. Then another 45 before my dinner arrived and it was cold beef cold gravy and potatoes that were so roasted I couldn't cut them with my knife and the Yorkshire pudding was overbaked. Popped in for lunch. Had chicken breast wrap (with garlic mayo) with side salad for €5.50. It was nice food and the staff were friendly. I also had a G&T which was cold and generous. The only thing I’d critique is €3 to add chips to a meal. A full portion, yes...but a handful on a plate of something else for a little less would be nice for those who want a little bit of naughtiness but don’t want to go...
