2024 update.

Still love this place. Cacio and the team really look after you and the food is always well cooked and presented by the chefs. Disappointed that we were not able to have our last meal there on Wednesday 13th as they took the sensible approach to the DANA and closed. Turned out to be a wise move. We will be back though as the food there is great.

Update from a year or two earlier.

Been coming here for the last 3 years now whilst on holiday. This restaurant is run very well by the owner, who I think is called Salvatore. The staff are great and friendly and the ambiance and decor are really good. Have to say that I haven't had anything here which has been anything less than delicious. I have had the diavolo pizza, delicious, the spaghetti carbonara, delicious and the lasagne, also delicious. All in all, a great Italian experience. The only let down is that it's not a very big restaurant and if you just turn up without a reservation, you may be out of luck, but that just shows really how good a job the owner and his team do.

2021 update. We have been back to Il Gusto in October and have found that the food, staff and service is still great. Cacio and Salvatore and their team do everything they can to make your meal and evening pleasant, relaxing and full of great food....

When I arrived I noticed the look wasn't very friendly and it wasn't cordial either, something like, (Good Night or something similar) Maybe because I was alone. Just tell me what you want. I told him I wanted a table for one person, I don't have a reservation. Answer was no. So I decided to order a pizza to take away. While ordering, a couple arrived, there was no reservation either but they were given a table at the back. I felt excluded and ignored. He insisted that I wait outside and if I wanted I could eat at the tables outside.I sat down and waited for the pizza, which came differently than what I ordered. No one came while I was having dinner to see if everything was ok or to simply check. Definitely my mistake, because when I entered and this situation occurred, I still decided to ask for...

Una Experiencia Decepcionante. Nuestra reciente visita a este restaurante italiano fue, lamentablemente, una gran decepción, principalmente debido a dos problemas importantes: la falta de transparencia en los precios de las bebidas y el comportamiento poco profesional del encargado.

Desde el momento en que nos sentamos, nos sorprendió no encontrar ningún precio visible para las bebidas que no fueran las de la carta de vinos. Pedimos cervezas 0.0 asumiendo que los precios estarían indicados en algún lugar. No fue así. Esta falta de claridad es, en mi opinión, una práctica engañosa que te deja a merced del restaurante cuando llega la cuenta. Es inaceptable en cualquier establecimiento hoy en día.

Para empeorar las cosas, el encargado mostró una actitud desagradable durante toda la noche. Era evidente que no tenía interés en hacer sentir cómodos a los clientes. Al preguntarle por los precios de las bebidas, su respuesta fue muy prepotente y con un tono bastante brusco, lo que hizo que la situación fuera aún más incómoda. La impresión general fue de alguien que no estaba contento con su trabajo y que lo proyectaba en los clientes.

En cuanto a la comida, aunque los platos italianos no estaban mal, la experiencia general se vio empañada por estos dos problemas fundamentales. Un buen restaurante no es solo buena comida; es también un buen servicio y transparencia.

No recomendamos este restaurante y no volveremos. Espero que tomen medidas para mejorar la claridad de sus precios y, lo que es más importante, la actitud de su personal de...
