Restaurante la Viña de Ale — Restaurant in Torremolinos

A lot went wrong here. The pleasant surprise was the availability of free tables and what initially seemed like a nice welcome. However, after placing our order, problems arose. Firstly, one of the dishes couldn't be served, so we had to change it to something else - okay, these things happen. So, one dish arrived, then there was a 10-minute break before the next one came. After about 15 minutes, I received another dish. If I wanted everything served separately, I would have asked for them to be served one by one. If I ordered grilled vegetables, tuna with extra potatoes and homemade bread, I would like to take the photo together, rather than having the tuna served first, then the potatoes. The grilled vegetables had no taste at all, every type tasted the same. The bread never arrived, but it was still charged on the bill. So, full disclosure. We were headed to the Indian restaurant beside this establishment and walked into the wrong door. Being Canadian and by the time we realized that it was the wrong spot, olives were already on the table...what a fortuitous mistake... The folks here are friendly and attentive. Food was fast, drinks were fast and the attention to detail. I mean, the gentleman who is setting the tables is using a slide rule....( Not really, but almost..) Charming little spot. We had the house red which was great, the bread which we paid for was to die for as were the Olives! I had the white asparagus with salmon. We walked into this restaurant genuinely excited to try it, but the experience was disappointing from the very start. The waiter made us feel like we weren’t good enough to be there—cold, unfriendly, and dismissive. Instead of a welcoming atmosphere, we were met with attitude that immediately put us off.

We even tried to book for another day, hoping maybe things would be different, but the staff member we spoke with was equally unhelpful and uninterested in assisting us. It felt as though they didn’t want our business at all.

Dining out should feel inviting and enjoyable, but here it felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for good service and...
