Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype

We discovered this restaurant through social media, where it seemed to have a solid reputation and plenty of local buzz. Based on the glowing posts and reviews, we arrived with confidence, expecting a good dining experience like any other guest would. Unfortunately, what we experienced was far from what was promised.

After placing our order, we waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. Just as we were about to leave, the waiter finally came with our meals — with no napkins, no explanation, and no sense of urgency or apology. We were forced to use the towel that was brought out with the wine just to clean our hands.

When we pointed this out, the waitress actually asked us, “Why didn’t you ask for napkins?” — which, frankly, is unacceptable. Napkins are a basic necessity, just like a fork and knife. Even fast food places automatically provide them. At a supposedly upscale restaurant, the fact that we had to request them is absurd.

I’m not someone who expects luxury treatment or special attention, but there are basic standards every restaurant should meet — and this one failed completely. The staff seemed disorganized and indifferent, and the overall energy of the place was negative and unwelcoming.

Bottom line: This was a letdown from start to finish. Poor service, long wait times, and a lack of basic hospitality. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend...

Excellent food and service. We didn’t plan to eat here having been in the area for drinks with friends but the menu was very appealing and the place looked busy which raised our curiosity. We had no expectations but this place delivered 💯

Having no idea of what the place actually offered we ended up having the most amazing pasta and we really enjoyed it.

But as the night went on we realised that we had missed the opportunity to enjoy some great meat. So we will 💯 plan to revisit in coming days. The “potence” which is rum based flambéed fillet finished at the table by the proprietor looked amazing plus the “novilla” dishes served on hot stone which are very generous.

The wine recommended to us was the best we have had so far on this trip.

Brasserie Phoenix has a stunning sea-view terrace — so peaceful you can hear the waves and watch the moonlight while dining. If you’d like to sit outside, it’s a good idea to reserve in advance as those tables are in high demand.

We really enjoyed the meat dishes and a glass of local cava. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the French owner was very welcoming. Our evening was made even better thanks to Dylan, our waiter — attentive, kind, and made us feel truly looked after. There’s also a good selection of pasta and small starters.
