OKAY PIZZA, STAY AWAY FROM THE CANNOLI

We went here to eat dinner about an hour and a half before they closed and they informed us they could only cook pizza, and everything else on the menu was unavailable. Not the greatest first impression, maybe the chef had left for the day? Pizza is after all a fairly simple dish to make, though hard to master, so maybe it was cooked by a waiter. Since we were starving we decided to still eat there. The pizza was okay. The crust was not the best and there was too much sause and cheese, so the balance was pretty off. But all inn all a pretty average pizza for Torrevieja. The dessert however was pretty bad. I had not tasted cannoli before and was exited since I've heard someone brag about the one from here. So I guess my experience could have been a fluke, but I have to base my review on my actual experience. The cannoli I got tasted like the shell had been made days before, and like it was fried in old oil. The filling was also pretty bad. I only took two bites before giving up on it. Also, important to note that the menu has allergy information, where it says the cannoli DOES NOT contain nuts, when it in reality had nuts as decoration on one side. Luckily it was very visible, but having wrong allergy information is worse then having none at all.

I wouldn’t go back to this restaurant. We ordered pizza, pasta and lasagne. The pizza and pasta were ok. The lasagne was very dry, tasteless and lacked meat which we reported to the staff. They did not take it well, 3 staff members, inc. the owner and chef came to challenge us with passive aggressiveness. The chef demonstrated subtle racism by asking us our nationality, and when we stated we were Colombian, she suggested that that the reason why we had a “poor knowledge about international food”. They were making us feel bad and embarrassed in front of other customers with for not liking tasteless and dry food and then they forced us to pay for the lasagna, which we did not eat. They also kept saying that out of 3000 customers we are the first to complain, but upon reading the reviews back at home, many people have stated the same as we did. Not what we were expecting.

Response to owner: I’m shocked that’s your reply because as soon as it arrived my mum had a bite and asked our friend to have a bite to see if she liked the lasagne which she did not and we gave it back as soon as your waiter came past our table 2 minutes later. Neither of them ate more than one bite because it was tasteless and all your staff members know...

Really great pizza and amazing service too. I was amazed at how well the staff treated us as we went in a big family group. Michael our server was also great, very charismatic and funny. The rest of the staff were also amazing thank you all for putting up with us. Definitely coming back here in the future.

Coming onto the food i tried the pizzas and the dough was nice soft but crispy and not soggy good flavours on top especially when paired with a spicy oil for those who like a bit of a kick. Ordered limoncello too which went down a treat after so much food.
