Can d'Oru — Restaurant in Tossa de Mar

A very bad beachfront restaurant in Tossa de Mar, in which the fish in the paella tasted gone off, and one of the starters was very unpleasant, resembling cat food. After politely complaining, the waiter (or perhaps owner) rather aggressiveyly took our plates away, without offering another option. He immediately returned to the table saying we had to pay for everything from the menu del día (even though we hadn't even been offered desserts and the main course was inedible).

After saying we weren't willing to pay for the food we hadn't eaten due to how unpleasant it was (we were willing to pay for what we already had eaten which were starters and our drinks).

This man was particularly aggressive and rude, and immediately called the police (who then came to the restaurant), without listening to us. We were astounded that he called the police on us. This has never happened anywhere.

As said, we were willing to pay for what we had consumed. Awful treatment, disappointing after having lived in Catalunya for 10 years and never receiving service like...

Wow just wow! Go here. You will not regret it. We have been traveling Europe for a month all over and this is the best food we have had. So fresh. So many options. Everything was yummy, wish we had more space in our stomachs to try everything. We tried 3 really good tapas places in Tossa and this was definitely the best. Unique options the views are amazing. Even if you can’t get an outdoor table it’s worth sitting inside because the food is better than the views. They do take reservations as they were holding a table next to us. Give this place and try you won’t regret it, worth the wait and worth the price. I don’t mind paying good money for good food and this place definitely worth it!!

The service was also lovely and our food did come pretty quick from sit down to check we were a little over an hour which is great with kids and multi course options.

They don’t have a kids menu but our kids loved everything we got. When food is so good and fresh...

Wow, amazing experience! We are a couple (Italian/spanish) and are here with an Italian couple of friends.

The atmosphere is cool, I’d say local, and the big plus is the sea in front!

The food, well, crazy cool! Everything was tasty, way way way better than the topical touristic restaurants you can find in the area. The duck fillet.. wow. The carpaccio of ternera(cow) wow, we ordered a second dish! Really we were stunned by the quality.

Wine, well we come from the wine country and we were not looking for some specific label or crazy wine, but even here we were amazed by the cool bottles! 2 really cool wines

The service is friendly and very enjoyable

Prices are honest and very very good considering the location and the quality.

Plus with the same money(maybe more) you risk to finish in the “paella/pizza/pasta” restaurant.. please, think twice!
