Mumbai Lounge – Decent Flavors, But the Experience Fell Flat
While walking through the charming streets of Tossa de Mar, we came across Mumbai Lounge, an Indian restaurant promising comforting flavors from home. Being in the mood for something familiar, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag.
🍽️ Food: Just About Average
The food was okay — not bad, but nothing that stood out either. The curries had a decent level of spice, and the naan was soft, but overall, the flavors lacked depth and richness. It felt like the kind of meal that satisfies your hunger but doesn’t leave an impression. If you’re craving Indian food in a beach town, it might do the job — just don’t expect to be wowed.
🧑🍳 Service: Below Expectations
The service was below average, which was disappointing. While we didn’t expect fine dining, the staff came across as disinterested and slightly cold. There wasn’t much of a welcome, and requests were met with short, flat responses. The atmosphere lacked warmth — something you usually look for in a cozy Indian restaurant.
💭 Overall Impression
Mumbai Lounge has potential with its location and menu, but the experience felt forgettable. A little more attention to hospitality and a boost in flavor would go a long way in making it a place worth recommending.

Final Verdict:
Average food. Below-average service. Come here only if you’re really craving Indian food and have no other...
Read moreFirst the name of the restaurant is very misleading as its contains the words Mumbai and India and you would expect Indian food but its actually Bengali which is quite different. Its not such a big deal though. The real reason behind the 1 start is the staff was extremely rude. We were a lot of people and there was no table that would fit us all so I went directly to the reception to say hi. The person there said Hello and then disappeared. 5 mins later when everyone was seated she returns and tells everyone to get up as we had moved the tables and she didn’t like it. We didn’t object and helped her move the tables. Afterwards when we were ready to order the food we told the waiter and he says “are you sure” which is extremely rude to say to a customer. We ignored again and let it go. We didn’t know what we wanted to drink so after I told the waiter very nicely “ can you please ask everyone what they want to drink “ and he replies “No, I cant. I have already taken your order” This time I got really mad and argued with him for a few minutes had to let it go as he clearly didn’t care. We didn’t order drinks. Paid premium price for average food and very bad customer service. Will never visit again also...
Read moreWe shared a starter, papadums and a curry and a bottle of wine. I saw they had makhani here and love this curry. I dragged my partner here and shared a starter of chicken tikka what was fenomenaal. Juicy with a slight lemon flavour. The papadums came with all the dips ( onion salad, spiced pepper , mint yogurt and mango chutney). Then the makhani was super. We had rice and naan and had a field day with this curry. My partner (who didn’t even want a curry) said it’s the best curry he ever had what I can easy understand. The wine was lovely and of a good price. We were super full and couldn’t finish the naan. Great portions! The service...
