Would not recommend. A big let down.

First experience at this restaurant was lovely. My wife and I arrived late in Valencia one night and decided to go to this restaurant as it was close to us and looked good, we were greeted and seated by a wonderful older gentleman waiter with glasses , he was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.

At the end of our holiday we returned to the restaurant for our last night with very high hopes going off our first experience.

This second (and last) experience we waited for 40 minutes outside for service, no one come to seat us or take our orders. After this we decided to sit inside and approach the restaurant staff to order, upon entering we were asked if we had a booking, the restaurant had 3 customers total inside it at this time, we said no, we were seated by the bar, we were told we would have to wait an hour and a half before ordering as this was when the kitchen opened, the waitress was rude and completely uninterested, at this point but we decided to stay as we were looking forward to having a good pallela, we decided to have a few drinks In the meantime. When 20:00 come around we tried to order the dishes we had been waiting for, we were then informed that we couldn't order these dishes as this was for customers with a 'reservation only'.... Mind you the restaurant was still all but empty at this point.

We had now waited almost 2 hours, been treated rudely by the waitresses who seemed like they would rather be anywhere else, and then been told that we essentially waited like idiots for nothing as we couldn't order the dishes we wanted anyway.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. So much so that this is the first review I have ever left online for any restaurant. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the wonderful gentleman waiter with glasses that served us the first night we arrived.

Think twice before spending your money at this restaurant. Unless the nice man with glasses is working then you will be...

We had the daily menu and we found the almond soup to be excellent. The rest of the dishes we're good but not extraordinary. The soup was exquisite though. We also had a dinner at the place and we had the "Pluma de iberico" and "Calamar a la brasa". The pluma is a nice dish - very simple and tasty. The calamaries were actually a disappintment. Not that they were bad or something like that. They were just underwhelming. And the reason I insist on this dish is that the calamary itself was excellent quality. Top notch. But the sauce is somehow orthogonal. Not in a good way. It somehow subtracts from the wonderful taste of this primely sourced sea creature. The bread they have comes warm. It is a nice touch. They seem to be a great place to dine but it's also a but finnicky. The english menu is somehow obscure - a lot of the menu items are actually in spanish despite being the english version. The service is ok. One waiter was very attentive but another one we had was less so. I would defo recommend this place to eat despite not being able to guarantee you...

Es wurde Reserviert mit der Bitte um Paella Valenciana - da wir online gesehen haben, wir müssen diese vorbestellen. Offensichtlich reicht eine Reservierung mit der Ankündigung was wir möchten nicht aus, auf Anfrage meinte der Kellner es sei unmöglich. Okay, haben dann auf Empfehlung des Kellners die Dry Aged Steak Paella genommen und als Vorspeise Pimientos de Padron - da wir um 20:00 reserviert haben und um 19:45 bereits da waren, wollte uns der Kellner die Bestellung nicht vor 20:00 aufnehmen - verständlich, aber bisher auch das 1. Mal erlebt. Statt der Pimientos de Padron haben wir Pimientos del Piquillo bekommen. Diese haben wir dann auch gegessen, weil wir uns auf keine Diskussion einlassen wollten. Als weitere Vorspeise hatten wir ein english muffin mit steak und einem ei drinnen. Zum Service; es sind solche Kleinigkeiten wie zu erwähnen das man nicht bedient wird weil man erst 15 Minuten später reserviert hat und das bringen von den falschen Speisen sowie das abschlagen einer Speise, welche das Erlebnis beeinträchtigen. Zum guten Service gehören meiner Meinung nach schnelles und freundliches Bedienen. Die falsche Speise zu bringen ist sowieso inakzeptabel. Da das Restaurant meine Mail und Telefonnummer hatte, hätten die uns problemlos kontaktieren können und sagen können, das eine Paella Valenciana unmöglich ist. Soviel dazu. Der English muffin mit Steak und ei war sehr gut, das Steak sehr well done, ein wenig Zäh Zum Ambiente; wir sind draussen gesessen und da waren nur einfache Sessel und Tische. Schlicht und Sauber - aber schön wären einige Dekorationen, wenigstens einen Sonnenschirm und eine Pflanze. Das Auge isst bekanntlich mit. Zum Essen; die Dry-Aged Steak Paella war sehr gut, das Fleisch wird nur von einer Seite angebraten und ist dementsprechend auf der anderen Seite komplett Roh - muss man mögen, ist nicht für jeden was. Die restlichen Steak stückchen in der Paella selber waren teilweise sehr Zäh und Fettlastig, hat mich persönlich nicht gestört. Die Pimientos del Piquillo waren auch sehr gut, trotzdem das falsche Gericht. War ein gutes essen, würde aber nicht nochmal dort hin

Not even a basic "buenos dias" "bienvenido" or "hola". Then, we waited 20 min to be asked for our drinks, and finaly received our first dish 40 min later (the restaurant was half empty). When we left, no one thanks us or said good bye. I believe Mc Donald gives more consideration to his clients. Food wise, it's OKAY, nothing worth the hype though. We liked the fries with eggs & truffle, and the 7 euros artichoke /pc !!! Our "a la brassa" pluma and veggies came cold, probably because of the poor efficiency of the frontline team. We'll not come back.
