We had higher expectations for this place, unfortunately we were a little disappointed! First of all the pulled pork bagel was amazing and also the jungle chocolate cake was so delicious! Starters and deserts are very good and deserve by far 5 stars! Then the main dishes were not at the same level. For example the chicken from my dish was not at all good because it was full of cartilages, and for the beef from my wife's risotto I can say the same plus that it was too well done and not medium. To drink we got a glass of white wine which was very good 👌🏼
Now let's talk about the staff. We had a reservation but from the moment we entered the restaurant, we had to wait 5-7 minutes at the entrance sign ( please wait to be seated) because there was nobody there to welcome us and show us our table. The staff was not so friendly and a little arrogant when asking what we want to eat and drink. Also we had no problem that we have to go outside to smoke our e-cigarette but they did not allow us to take our glass of wine with us outside ( other Valencia restaurants did allow it 😉). Anyway, the same problem with the waiting time when we finished. We waited 10 minutes to get the bill!!!
Last but not least, nobody speaks English! How can you be a top rated restaurant in Valencia in 2025 and have staff that does not speak English?
The location of the restaurant is amazing, looks very nice and probably is the biggest attraction of the place. So in conclusion, 5 stars for : starters, deserts, drinks and location. 1 star for : staff and main dishes. Overall from our point of view this is a fair 3 star review that is more than generous.
If you just want to eat a good desert and go for a drink, we recommend this place. If you want to have a good time, eat well and feel welcome,...

Had lunch at Wee Begin in Valencia with three friends, and overall it was a fantastic experience. We went for the tasting menu — starters, mains, dessert — the works.
🍽️ The food? • Prawn paella – rich and comforting, the kind of dish you don’t want to share. • Spaghetti prawn paella – yes, carbs on carbs, but trust me, it works. • Wild tuna tataki – fresh, light, and gone in seconds. • Pachiri truffle with sausage – earthy, rich, and dangerously addictive.
Every plate was a win. Honestly, it’s rare for a whole table to nod in approval at every dish, but this time, no complaints. Four people, €126 total — for what we got, I’d call that solid value.
🌿 The vibe? Loved it. The place has this green, airy, summer feel — almost like eating inside a garden. Plus, it’s right in the city center, walking distance from the park. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer…
😅 …but here’s the catch: lingering isn’t really an option. This is where I got my crash course in European service culture. They had only two waitresses for what looked like nearly a hundred people (how do they even do it?). And once they decide your time is up, they’ll kindly (but firmly) kick you out of your table. No hesitation. Back home, this would feel rude — but maybe here it’s just “normal efficiency.” Still, worth knowing if you’re expecting to sit for hours chatting.
✨ Final thoughts: • Food: 10/10 • Vibe: 9/10 • Service: …let’s call it “efficiently European” • Would I go back? Absolutely — I’ll just chew a little...
Read moreThe food was tasty and the interior of the restaurant was lovely but besides that not a good experience.
During our whole meal our waiter seemed to be in a rush and was honestly unpolite. Standing next to us the whole time while we browsed the menu, to clearing up the table while some of us where still eating to arriving with the bill while we were still eating dessert. He also started asking some of our group members' ages and proceeded to laugh about that person's career choices which was just weird.
Concerning questions about food, he seemed lost and ended up recommending just the most expensive options (for example a 24€ group menu instead of an 15€ lunch menu which were almost identical besides bigger entré portions). He had trouble answering questions such as which meal is rich in protein or which options are vegetarian and he seemed annoyed at us for asking (even though we had people speaking fluent Spanish). He also adviced us multiple times to stay away from Begin bowl, because "it's full of mint", and when one of us still ordered it, he insisted if we are sure. In the end the bowl had 4 pieces of mint leaves...
Finally, in the bill we were charged for extra menu (25€) and had to chase down another waiter to resolve the matter because ours wouldnt return to our table despite seeing our signals.
All in all, a confusing and annoying experience that even good food couldn't save. Would not return to this particular...
