El Rinconet — Restaurant in Valencia

We visited in late July and had a selection of authentic Spanish dishes. The food was all of the best quality and was well prepared. The service we received was very friendly and helpful.

This restaurant is situated a short walk from the old centre of Valencia on the way to Mestalla stadium. It is situated in a quiet little corner (as its name suggests) away from some of the more touristy places. It is certainly worth heading to if you are looking for excellent Spanish dishes at a reasonable price.

The restaurant has also introduced the best Covid hygiene measures I have seen implemented anywhere I have been. I was really impressed by the care that has been taken.

DO NOT expect a fancy place with trees and a nice view. Also, do not expect haute cuisine. But do also not expect a tourist trap. DO expect a simple genuine Spanish restaurant with decent, though not perfect food (the 'Secreto Iberico' can be recommended). Do expect friendly and polite staff who may recommend only half a chocolate tarte to you, because it is too big. Do expect to be surrounded by Valencia inhabitants, do not expect foreign tourists or foreign languages. Expect a good time at affordable prices and expect to feel like a Spanish person on his/her evening leisure time. Oh, and do not repeat my mistake. We discovered this jewel during our last stay in Valencia. This is a neighborhood restaurant - frequented by locals, with excellent, rustic dishes made with fresh, first class ingredients. The staff was fabulously attentive, and we had such a great experience that we returned the next evening. The second time we turned ourselves over to Adrian (the owner) and had him choose our menu based on our wine choice.
