This is not an Irish pub. Went in on Saturday 15 September and place was packed as there was a big football game on,Liverpool v Spurs. So there were mostly English clientele which gives the place a different atmosphere to a real Irish pub. Tried to get a drink but there was only one young English/Welsh girl behind the bar who is clearly inexperienced as she can only handle one order at a time and did not show any sense of urgency at all. Then again it’s not her fault that she was the only staff member working at such a busy time.
Eventually more staff came on, an Irish lady, who seemed a bit more with it and I managed to get a pint of Heineken (Irish?) for €5, which is ridiculous by Spanish standards.
Tables were a disaster with empty glasses and food plates everywhere. Stairs to toilets blocked by people sitting on stairs watching TV.
Heard a girl order food and being told it would not be delivered to the table but she had to collect at the bar in roughly 5 minutes as they were so busy. How is that a proper service? A person in chef’s clothing however seems to wander around collecting empty glasses which is bizarre.
Also ignore people saying the “Guinness is perfect”. They have obviously never had a real pint in Ireland. The pint here is sloppy and goes flat quickly and just like this bar should be avoided.
Finally, when trying to watch football they have one tv at the front with poor quality internet stream of Sky Sports with sound but the stream is about 40 seconds behind other TVs in the bar that show match on a Spanish Sports channel (with annoying constant mute signal on screen) so you get one part of the bar cheering/shouting earlier than the other. Ridiculous.
As you can probably guess by now, I did not like this place and will...
Read moreI recently attended a flamenco show and was very disappointed with the overall experience, primarily due to poor service and the unsuitable venue.
First, despite paying extra for front-row seating, I was not initially offered a front-row seat and had to insist on being properly seated. The venue turned out to be an Irish pub, which I was not made aware of during the booking process — not an ideal setting for a flamenco performance.
The biggest issue was the complete lack of internet or Wi-Fi access in the basement where the show took place. There were no physical menus provided, and without any signal, I couldn’t access a digital menu either. When I asked for assistance, the waiter was unhelpful and rude. He insisted on charging me for drinks immediately, even though I planned to order food and possibly more drinks during the show. He also didn’t have change for my cash payment.
To complete the payment, I was taken to the bar upstairs — missing the beginning of the performance in the process. The bartender there was also unable to provide a menu or help me access the internet. Only during intermission did another bartender kindly offer to pull up the menu on her phone, which I appreciated.
When my food finally arrived, it came with someone else’s order. The waiter had to step over the stage mid-performance to retrieve it — very disruptive and unprofessional.
Overall, this was a very poor experience in terms of both service and venue. Hosting a flamenco show in an Irish pub without basic customer accommodations like Wi-Fi, menus, or polite service really detracted from the evening. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for...
Read moreA very negative sports bar experience in Valencia. Food is mediocre . Service can be nice sometimes if seated outside, but they are often dismissive and rude. A small group of 4 of us tried to watch a game by finding a quiet spot upstairs in the corner where nobody would be bothered. We were treated so rudely by the staff regarding where we were standing even though we were not obstructing anyone. Meanwhile, they allowed a group of 20 guys to sit on the stairs and block the bathrooms. It made no sense and they handled it like we were doing something wrong. When asked why we had to leave the area, they could not explain. Really unpleasant service and there is no reason to be so rude to customers. And, we had not been drinking at all beforehand. We speak Spanish and live in Valencia, so this was not the product of a group of wasted tourists behaving badly. We have tried the place a few times, and each time I give it a pass, but this time the unfortunate approach to service went too far.
Quick update: we did have a nice service member come chat and serve us with a smile after I wrote this review and he recognized that we had an issue and apologized . As I said, the service can be kind sometimes. But when it’s rude, it is very...
