Excellent food and service in this typical Spanish restaurant funnily located in between wheat storage silos and a high road. My friend and myself cycled by the day prior and the place looked really inviting and traditional. So we decided to try it the day after, we arrived relatively early, just after midday but we were made to feel very welcome by the staff who were still getting the place ready, we ordered steamed mussels and patatas Bravas for starters, both were excellent, the mussels with their lemon and wine gravy and the potatoes with their garlic mayonnaise. We then went for a traditional Paella Valentiana for 2 which was absolutely delicious, it takes about 40 mn to cook but worth all the wait. Paella is a saffron rice based dish cooked with rabbit, chicken, snails, beans, artichokes and peppers. There are no mussels or chorizo. You eat it directly off the flat copper dish (paella) it's cooked in. Mila, our fantastic waitress, who recommended the traditional Paella rather than the mixed or seafood ones also available on the menu, was so attentive, friendly and made the whole experience even better. Reasonably priced, this is definitely a must and highly highly recommended. And because of its quirky location (I think!), the place is essentially frequented by locals who obviously know...
Read moreI loved this place! We came here twice during our stay in Madrid, and I wish we could have come more often to try out more things. The salmon pinchos we got were INCREDIBLE and I still crave it now. Everything there seemed so fresh and yummy, and it was reflected on how crowded it was inside the building.
Everything we had there was delicious and/or interesting.. we saw many people get pan fried peppers with salt so we tried it too. It was different, and made a good accompaniment to beer, but not something we would get again. The olives were fresh and excellent. As another reviewer said, some of the food is heated in a microwave. Because of that and the prices, I docked a star. However, this is an incredible place with lots to taste and drink, and I highly recommend checking it out at least once.
As a side note, I really liked the convenience of just being able to put my beer glass wherever I was, despite the fact that I moved around eating different things. I saw someone collect them all at the end of the night and return them to their...
