I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Dehesa del Saler on a Sunday afternoon. I arrived at 2:30 PM, a perfectly normal time for lunch in Spain, and was refused service simply because I was a solo traveler. This is absolutely absurd — the restaurant was clearly not full, as shown in the photos I’ve attached. There were plenty of empty tables, so there’s no excuse for this kind of treatment.
What’s the point of having a restaurant if you’re going to turn away paying guests — especially on a Sunday, when hospitality should be at its best?
It felt discriminatory and completely unwelcoming. I travel solo often and have never been treated like this anywhere else. If this is a policy, it’s outdated and offensive.
I left feeling embarrassed and frustrated. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, especially fellow solo travelers....

Our friends ordered turbot. The restaurant didn’t say they didn’t have it, which we thought was a good sign. After the starters, the waiter casually came back and said: “You know what? Better if we bring you some lenguado (sole fish) instead.” We thought: ok, what could possibly go wrong?
Well… everything.
What arrived was a so-called “lenguado” that must have either been caught back in Columbus’s time, or was an impostor from the flatfish alter-ego family. Dubious texture, a museum-like flavor, and cooked with zero love. And I eat sole very often – let me tell you: this was NOT it.
⭐ Rating: for the view and the mussels – applause. For the...
Read moreHorrible experience. Paid more than 30 euros for two drinks, tasteless bread and fried squids that were nothing special. Waited for a Vegetarian paella for 1.5 hours, they were very apparently busy serving 8 tables with half empty restaurant, decided not to wait for it. While we were leaving, an employee with glasses created a drama scene with gestures and almost throwing the plate and showing his back to us when were trying to talk to him, he tried to come up with an excuse that paella takes 30 mins to make, showing us the ticket that we came 1.5h earlier (yes, it should take 30-40 minutes, not one and a half hours+ it’s just vegetables). Avoid if you want to truly...
