We love Indian cuisine and are frequent to other Indian restaurants in Valencia. Sher e Punjab offer a 30% discount through the fork, so we decided to give them a try. Arrived at 21h on Friday and there were only two other tables (out of 25aprox) with guests, but hey in Spain people take dinner late we thought. After a review of the menu, we decided to go with the “TASTING MENU” (3persons), with a tag of €55, meaning 18,33€ each. That should give us a decent combination of platers, we thought. Well, it started a little disappointing. The entering course (Veg. Pakora/ChickenTikka/SeekhKebab), was served on a medium plate, without any love. Visually below a street food serving, but we are in a restaurant, and this is the first impression. However, we started the tasting, free of prejudice, waiting for a well-known flavors and textures. Unfortunately, the food was kind of warmed up, meaning that the pakora was re-fried and dried out, also the seekh kebap and the plate was rescued by a tender and well-seasoned chicken tikka. Then, after a few minutes, the main courses, again disappointing, after tasting the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma (the sauces were quite diluted, may have require a bit more simmering to concentrate flavor and texture) there was a pleasant surprise, a Lamb SAAG that I sincerely would consider to order again. For dessert, homemade ice-cream, the pistachio flavored, my true favorite. Unfortunately, when the bill arrived, there was a unexpected situation. We only received a discount on some extra side orders (about €3,37) and the total after disc. was €69.13! I did not notice that the TASTING MENUS and drinks were excluded, did not ask before ordering and was not adviced by the waiter before eighter. If we knew, a completely different order would have been placed and the experience could have been different. I point this out because, the bowls for the main courses in the tasting menu are significantly smaller than the bowls for the regular main courses, which is the reason why they are offering a tasting menu at reduced (?) price. However, if we would have ordered by the regular menu, the total (with regular, bigger main courses) for all three courses & 3 persons would have been €64,70 or €45,29 after the 30% discount, instead we paid €55 for less food. Further, after taking a look at other dishes served, we got the impression that the cook (maybe chef) takes more detail and love (?) with the regular menu dishes. Maybe they deserve a second chance to proof this theory, but after spending the night and waking up with stomach discomfort and pain, I don’t believe that I will repeat. I truly believe the manager does not understand the marketing behind any THE FORK campaign. You are not offering a X% discount because you still want to make profit, you look forward to get to new customers, that when they repeat, leave that profit and enrich your customer base. It was Friday night, we staid from 21-23h at the restaurant and only 5 tables with a total of 11 people (incl. our table) were having dinner. Your restaurant has far mor potential. Take a look at your colleagues at Cortes Valencianas and you might understand what I mean. I would have loved to write a different review, your staff is very kind and the result could be positive with a little more love for the food and...
Read moreFood, wine, and dessert were excellent quality. I was not expecting the taste to be this good in a place like Valencia, but they really know their flavors and masalas. I ordered Karahi chicken, which was delicious. The naan was nice, medium thin, and nicely cooked, they gave good amount of pyaaz and salad and green chutney. The chicken was soft and well cooked with lots of masalas and proper taste. One of the fat tandoori boneless chicken pieces was a bit uncooked but everything else was great. The service was excellent by a young man, Vishl,...
Read moreI'm really glad I found this restaurant! The food is very varied and tasty. We had Pakora for starters and then my wife had Chicken biryani and I got a very nicely spiced and hot Chicken madras. The Mango Lassi was also very nice and refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. Not to forget, the cheese garlic naan is spectacular! The place is quite sizable, very clean and the service was spot on. We will definitely return as we're both fans of Indian cuisine and were longing to find a great place to enjoy all of the great dishes (and for a...
