Me and my family have been coming to this restaurant for years so I took my partner there last night but unfortunately the standards really slipped.
Our starter (one mackerel shared between 2) took 45 minutes to arrive. The quality of the mackerel and taste was overall pretty good.
The shared paella then came pretty soon after but there was no flavour whatsoever and it was extremely thin and cold. We sent it back and the waiter admitted it wasn’t good enough and not the usual standard.
He offered us the option of waiting 20/25 minutes for a new paella or we could pick from the tapas menu which would be quicker.
The Gambas al ajillo wasn’t too bad and came 20 minutes later but the meatballs took 35 minutes to come and the quality was extremely poor & cold! So after 2 hours we left the restaurant still hungry and extremely dissatisfied.
We also had to ask multiply times for drinks we ordered which never came.
A simple apology or dessert/coffee on the house would have been a nice gesture to offer us but they simply didn’t care. Unfortunately it ruined our last night of our holiday and we or my family won’t be going back. A real shame as it used to be a special restaurant in a brilliant location in...
Read moreVery nice restaurant in historical center of Xabia. I come there quite often because the food is delicious. If you're a tapas afficionado I highly recommend my 3 favourites : patatas bravas (revisited in a very crispy way), albondingas (best one I ever had!) And tallarín (the sauce is the key ingredient!) The place itself is very nice, well decorated, even if you eat outside, it's particularly nice in the evenning with all the lightings above your heads. The staff is also very sweet and helping! (They also seem to talk every possible language 😄) Prices are maybe a bit high compared to other similar places but the food quality is so good that it's worth it. As it is in historical center beware if you come by car, even more in summer, you might have a lot of trouble finding a parking...
Read moreThis was the star of our trip to javea. The servers were really nice and cracking up jokes, all our orders were correct and they were always around to help us. The starters I had were some of the best I’ve had. I’d recommend the prawn croquettes and the patatas bravas were insane. The bread sharer was tasty, and my main I went for the lamb shoulder, it was huge and fell right off the bone. I had a bite of the mixed paella too and I think next time I’d go for that one. The restaurant itself is in a really nice location too and we were able to sit on the terraza. Additionally, the music playing was perfect volume and...
