One of my biggest disappointments ever. I went here following a local recommendation. We had no reservation but were given a table at the street area. All went well. We ordered the fixed menu which is two starters and a main plus a dessert. The waitress was nice. Now let me describe the events.
The first starter simply was a different one. On menu it said red tuna , feta cheese and aubergines. Well , we were served green sprouts with boiled white egg and some resemblance of fish which could be tuna. Not bad , not good , but not what was on the menu.
Ravioli stuffed with pork meat. This was simply not eatable. Rather a filled dumpling with a gross meat inside. Horrible
And now the rice. My hopes were placed here. Well , we are in Jávea, Alicante region. The rice arrived well presented. The paella itself (the recipient) was too high though which makes me concern regarding the cooking. And yes , once we tried the rice , it was overcooked , pasado as we say in Spain. I tried the usual test to grasp a spoon of rice and flip it over : it fell as a ball, the grains not separating themselves. A really bad rice indeed.
The dessert was not bad but just a scoop of ice cream with a broken biscuit over it.
When the bill came , little ugly surprises like filtered water on the check. Aware of Spanish law: either you serve mineral water and you charge for it , either you serve regular water and don’t charge for it. Filtered and in your own recipient is not mineral water and should not be charged
My children has spaghetti with tomato sauce. Was not bad but it was simply not spaghetti. It was fideos (surely they have them for fideua) which is simply not spaghetti. Being children all was ok but again , another “surprise”.
All in all , with all presented with a vibe of upscale cuisine. I’ve read the reviews before me , most of them positive , which seem to be perfectly honest. A complete different experience in my case. I don’t enjoy making bad reviews , and was truly disappointed with...
Read moreME ESPERABA MAS y me explico.
Read moreA nice experience but didn’t live up to the expectations we had from the reviews and the Michelin recommendation. Food was ok but not amazing. Rabbit Terrine was nice but found gristle and bone in the dish. The oxtail cannelloni was delicious. The tuna main meal was very nice if not perhaps slightly overcooked for my liking but maybe that’s just my preference. We didn’t enjoy the lamb main dish as much mainly down to the seasoning taste rather than anything else. The French Toast dessert was amazing and probably we felt worth the visit. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall nice but not amazing or worth the price in...
