Worst restaurant experience ever... Basically we were just kicked out of this restaurant as the presumable owner can not take negative feedback! We POLITELY sent back chicken strips as my daughter couldn’t even bite through them, they were so overcooked and chewy, and when we POLITELY explained the issue to the waitress, she just looked at us gone out! When the next lot arrived the chicken was equally as chewy! The beers came 2/3 full as there was so much froth! Portion size was shocking for the price. Were very polite people and always speak to waiters/waitresses with a smile on our faces, but that was definitely not reciprocated here! General unwelcoming service. Then to be shouted at by the owner saying “YOU ENGLISH ALWAYS COMING WITH PROBLEMS!” was just unacceptable customer service! When i tried to calmly explain to him what we had just experienced he shouted “GET OUT AND NEVER COME BACK” while waving his hands in the air aggressively! He wouldn’t even let me talk he was so in his own head…. Extremely disappointed as we have eaten here so many times a few years ago and it was always fantastic! Fortunately Javea has many many options of great places to eat out with lovely friendly staff! So not disappointing that we will not...
Read moreWe went to this place today. I was highly disappointed as previously enjoyed it. Today we had a very sharp, argumentative and unkind waitress. From the moment we walked in she had a problem. Maybe there is some issue in her life. We order some thai chicken wings which were some tiny crunchy wings with a topping of teriyaki sauce and then tacos de bacalao. When some frozen fish tasting of water arrived we were confused. We asked the waitress who explained that we are incapable of speaking Spanish and "taco" means a piece of fish. Indeed but when you have: curried empanadas (not Spanish), Thai wings (not spanish); one would expect tacos to be tacos shells with filling as served by the Javea Company and the rest of Javea. No one explained. They just argued and told us we are incompetent. We didn't have to pay for the taco in the end. The patronising and rude behaviour or the blonde waitress was beyond...
Read moreUnfortunately after what was another lovely dinner, as through the years we have always visited La Trastienda, we experienced some of the most abrupt and shocking treatment from who I assume is the owner.
I had one small criticism of one of the items and on speaking with the staff, I was rudely treated, shouted at, and on returning to my table, the owner then went to speak to the table next to ours to mock me. This treatment after our table had spent 120€+ on dinner was extremely disappointing to say the least. We have always supported this small business and even recommended friends to go.
Having a decade of hospitality experience myself, it seems very strange that somebody in this industry could be so incapable of receiving constructive criticism.
We will...
