TLDR; a more upmarket restaurant than your typical tapas bar or grill house. Came here for date night, worth every penny.
The menu is heavily inspired and influenced by Korean and Japanese cuisine. Being from Asia myself, I am always skeptical of fusion cuisine. Especially in a small town like this. However both my partner and I were surprised when the Korean Fried Chicken was very authentic and the scallops were complimented very well with a “tonkotsu” sauce. These were just the starters, so it was a good start to the meal!
The lobster ramen is a little pricey at 35 EUR but if you like seafood ramen, it’s definitely worth trying. The broth is super thick and creamy, reminiscent of the “Bone Daddies” style in London if you’ve ever been.
The soft shell crab black rice was a real surprise. First off, the soft shell crab was fried to perfection with a crispy outside and tender inside. It takes real skill. There was also so much seafood packed into the rice that you can taste the sea with every bite. What’s perhaps most surprising is the Japanese influence with very subtle addition of bonito flakes.
Finally the waitress and waiter were lovely and attentive. The perfect balance of being welcoming and not checking in too often.

What truly makes Citurna special is the staff. They are hands-down the friendliest, most welcoming team we’ve encountered in Playa Blanca. Attentive without being overbearing, genuinely warm, and clearly love what they do.
And let’s not forget the cocktails—absolutely perfect. Balanced, creative, and expertly made. Whether you’re sipping a classic or trying one of their unique house creations, you’re in for a treat.

Read moreHaving eaten at this location many years ago when it was a separate restaurant business, I was always intrigued about what Citurna would be like. I was pleasantly surprised then after deciding to give it a try to receive 5 star experience, food and service. My wife and I had seen the tasting menu online prior to visiting and opted to try it. The tasting menu consisted 5 extremely tasty but altogether different dishes which were explained well and beautifully presented by our extremely charming waitress who was consistently attentive during the course of the evening. The paired drinks also added to the experience, with a nice variety consisting of a vermouth, several local wines and a port to finish. The restaurant became very busy later on with an influx of seemingly Spanish residents and holidaymakers which is always a good sign and it was obvious this restaurant is a very popular one. We already can’t wait to go back and we are certain this restaurant will become a firm favourite, rivalling the others we choose to visit on our regular holidays...
