Customer service was decent to start with but towards the end when we just paid and had given a tip which the guy looked and noticed and we were ignored and it felt like they were complacent and expected tips.
The food was good, my friend had a margherita pizza, I had the espanola pizza and we shared a tray of chips. Had a brownie for dessert too.
Margherita - my friend liked it, I tried a slice and I honestly couldn’t taste any cheese on the pizza. I could taste the tomato base and the oregano but definitely not cheese. Still pleasant but maybe change your cheese topping. The pizza base tasted nice
Espanola - the pizza was nice. It had Serrano ham, balls of chorizo and pepperoni on it which gave it good flavour. Only criticism would be it was very oily because of the cured meats on the pizza so could have done with a light dab to remove some of the oil before serving.
Chips - nice, wasn’t anything special but salted nicely and crispy.
Brownie - walnut brownie was nice and a good portion. Came with vanilla ice cream
Hot chocolate was nice, light and smooth. Good flavour definitely recommend.
Decent food, nothing special but you wouldn’t feel disappointed after eating here. Typical tourist restaurant that has a silly amount of dishes to try and cater...
Read moreThe most amazing platter of overpriced frozen seafood I have ever had. An amazing tourist scam happened when they artfully doubled (??!!) the price (charged $50 instead of $22) by being “quite clever”. They charge a different price than the menu lists. In very small print, a clever “pp” for “we will double this amount” was added. I would expect the waiter to make this clear when I ordered. It was lovely, definitely impressive in the price-$50 for a plate of fried seafood (of which some was cold). Also they slipped in a “compulsory” “tip”. The waiter was very sweet until when I expressed shock at the bill, and suddenly acted shifty and did not make eye contact after that. It was awe inspiring that, given their ‘professional’ demeanor, such care is taken to make this information as tricky as possible for their guest. Should be more honest in the way they present prices. I am awestruck by my...
Read moreAttentive service at this local restaurant right in front of the new port at Playa Blanca.
The food is good quality and excellent value - bordering on huge portions! No need to book for lunch, but we noted several people reserving tables for the evening.
The restaurant is located next to the respectable, but football-focussed, Irish Anvil. Staff are great and the ambience / decor very pleasant.
Lunchtime options include 'snacks' - which are pretty huge - plus the option of a la carte. Based on two family visits (kids aged 10 and 8), can recommend the chicken wings, chips, and chicken wrap for young uns; salad, pork chops and garlic prawns for grown ups. Cocktails looked great and local beers (Tropical) great value.
My parents - in their 70s & 80s...
