Sometimes all you need is a great little cocktail in your hand. Sometimes all you need is a friend. Luckily both are common at the Irish anvil bar in Playa blanca. Myself accompanied by chaperone stumbled over to anvil bar Irish and when we left we had the zoomies! Upon entering we were met with a jaunty, glorious soundtrack. I spun around at great speed and almost toppled myself. At first I thought “omg what an unbelievable bar” but then I saw the drinks. No one has ever seen anything like it especially not so far cheaper. I met the Welsh couple who were apparently “not together” although they did seem to get along swimmingly. We enjoyed their banter. At most they flattered eachother wisely. We both ordered fancy cocktails with decorative fruits. Yummy yummy yum yum yummers yummington. They made us tippy wippy holy guacamole and tasted goodie woodie mmmmm. There were also friendly people punting at regular levels compared to most bars in the Lanzarote bar culture which was wonderful refreshing and made our journey special. Soon we realised there were also other people on the moon or at some other time maybe? We love the live music basically, it turned out that the guy performing used to live sing in a gig. He knew all chords and all lyrics and all melody’s. It altogether made me boogie with my hubbio. We departed as people departed but we remained friends with all the friends we made along the way. We have had a blast and will remember Ireland bar forever. We will always be okay in anvil and Ireland. Thank god for...
Read moreThe food was nice for an Irish style pub in Lanzarote, however what ruined the overall experience was how we were placed in a booth which had just been painted in the morning. When we came it was around midday and the weather was extremely hot compared to the rest of the time we had spent at Lanzarote, so we wanted an escape from the heat. Inside the place stank of paint, which put some of us off eating (we weren't aware that the booths had been freshly painted). Some of us asked for an extra beverage after we had finished our original one, however, we never received them (we were not charged for them on the final bill). After we had finished eating, we got up to realise that our clothes were ruined with paint. If the bar was responsible, then they would have closed these booths until they were properly dry. Instead they kept them open and led us to these booths, fully aware they had just being painted.
Overall: There are much better options in the area if you want some food and drink, however, if you do eat here, choose to eat outside, and always check your final bill incase they try to charge you for something you...
Read moreStopped for a quick Guinness like you do went to the bar and was told to sit down and they would come to us even tho someone else was stood at the bar making an order. Sat and waited nearly 10 mins for someone to come and take our order and watched other people walk up to the bar place an order and get their drinks, nearly left as it was very hot and we really just wanted a quick drink. When we were finally served the waitress was friendly and our order came quite quickly, the bar itself was nice inside with lots of large tvs showing sports. Would prob go again if passing but our 1st experience was just a little spoilt by the wait. I understand table service can take a little longer but just didn't understand why we was turned away from the bar to use table service and other people were walking up and getting served. Location was very central to all other shops with a lovely view lots of tables to sit at outside which we did as it was really hot inside and they just seemed to have a few large rotor style fans on the roof which didn't...
