Just a short clip from my solo Christmas trip to Lanzarote 🎄 I stayed at the beautiful Elba Premium Suites, connected to the Elba Lanzarote Royal Village Resort 📍 I couldn’t recommend this place more—amazing atmosphere, incredible food, and the perfect spot to unwind over the holidays. I had the best time here and can’t wait to return! #SoloTravel #ChristmasGetaway #lanzarote #travel #drone #hotel #canaryisland #solo #amazing #holiday #travelgoals #relaxing #exploremore #fyp

We have recently (October 2023) arrived home from a fantastic stay at the Elba Premium Suites hotel (Adult only section) in Lanzarote. We arrived after 10pm on the Sunday, check in was a breeze and we were provided with a map and instructions on how to get to our room. The staff offered to open up a section of the restaurant so we could have some cold meats and cheese etc at 11pm. Even at that time of night were impressed with the cleanliness and feel of the hotel. The rooms are split into blocks of 4 across a decent sized site and we didn’t hear anyone else or feel overlooked. On arrival our room was clean and fresh and had air conditioning, shower with decent pressure, kettle, fridge, bed, sofa and a little decking / patio type area. Despite the late night we still woke up early and went for a morning run. The beach was really close and we were there in a 5 minute gentle jog (it was under 15 minute walk) and we ran along the prom before it got too hot. The surrounding area is nice enough to explore but is mostly other hotels and a few little shops. We had breakfast in the premium restaurant, which as it was adults only, was nice and quiet and the option to sit on the balcony with the sun rising was fantastic. The food selection was great, we are a little different with our eating habits but we were well catered for. There was everything from bacon, cold meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, donuts, yoghurt, our only complaint here would be the “English” sausages which were awful and likely more filler than meat. There was a decent selection of drinks with water, tea, coffees, juices and smoothies, though I just drank water, we always came away from breakfast stuffed. Even at the end of October the weather was pretty hot around the middle of the day so after breakfast was a great time to go for a walk before the pool opened at 10. Now in theory the rules state you are not allowed to reserve sunbeds with towels but most people did. This did mean that to use the adult pool you had to be there by about 9:45am. The adult pool was nice and cool and quiet and the pool shack provided water and snacks if needed, though we didn’t really use it. We didn’t really use the pool much as our room was close to the pool and had an amazing outside area that had sun most of the day, so we tended to lounge there and wander round to the pool for a dip. We were staying all inclusive so the next part of our day was lunch, this started from around 1, I say that because they were very relaxed with the timings and it was normally a few minutes late. The lunch selection was pretty good, meat, fish, cold meats and cheese and for those with kids, pizza, pasta, chips and a selection of puddings. Our one complaint would be that we had to wait up to 20 minutes to be served with a drink. We generally sat outside at lunch to avoid the screaming kids inside! The gym was fine.. For us dinner was served a little late at 7pm in the premium restaurant but there was plenty to keep us busy in the hot afternoon. Dinner itself was pretty good, like lunch they were slow at getting you drinks but because we were in the premium area it wasn't as busy. Food was again very varied with options available for anyone and everyone. Evening Entertainment wasn't for us and we would generally chill in front of the TV watching the small selection of English channels. The cleaning staff were great and the lady doing ours cottoned on to my wife needing extra tea and milk and myself wanting extra water and started providing it as standard every day. We went to reception several times to ask for help and they always did everything they could to help us, including opening breakfast up early when easyJet made our return transfer stupidly early. In summary it was an amazing stay that far exceeded our expectations with a couple of minor grumbles. The WiFi was flaky Drinks were too slow at being delivered at lunch and dinner Sun beds reserved early despite rules We were thinking of this as a one off but were so impressed we are hoping to go back as soon as we can.

We are currently at Elba Premium Suites Lanzarote, adults only, however in order to use facilities one has to go to Elba Royal Village main part of the hotel and there are a lot of screaming kids around… so it is not really an adults only hotel, but a family hotel with some adults only areas. Before arriving I could see a lot people complaining on the Facebook group about dirty plates and sewage smell. They were correct. A lot of plates are unclean, with bits of food and grease on them, after being washed and laid down for clients to use in the Mirador buffet restaurant. This is absolutely disgusting to have to go through a lot of plates, in order to find a reasonable clean one for your food. Not an isolated incident, but every day, breakfast and dinner. The accommodation area does smell of sewage, so when you sit on your terrace a rancid smell of sewage comes in, and this is not just an isolated issue. The row of bungalows where we are staying seem to have the same problem with sewage smell, so it is not an isolated issue for just one bungalow. The adults only pool is very small and extremely crowded, so we couldn’t find where to stay there and we had to use the main pool area in the Elba Royal Village, full of kids, each day since we arrived. Not so much of a romantic peaceful get away, as we were hoping for… Lastly but not the last, we paid for “Prestige” package mainly because my partner wanted to eat a la carte every night. This is the way Elba sells the “Prestige” upgrade. Guess what, we arrived on Friday and we couldn’t book a table to any a la carte restaurant until Tuesday because everything was already booked. The Brasserie Restaurant is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, so we only could book a table for Saturday the following week (just before our departure). Nona restaurant is open from Monday to Friday, but the earliest available booking was on Tuesday the following week. So Elba is misrepresenting the Prestige package knowing that they cannot deliver what they are promising regarding the use of a la carte restaurants. Prestige upgrade is also sold as having the coffee pods replenished every day for the coffee machine. However nobody brought any coffee yesterday and now I only have only one coffee pod for the morning, which is upsetting because I usually need 3 in the morning. When we arrived the fridge was empty & no coffee, even if Prestige package apparently comes with soft drinks and beer included & the fridge must be replenished daily. Every day so far my partner had to go to reception to request for someone to come and bring some soft drinks to the room. Then we had to wait until evening for the drinks to cool down a bit & to become drinkable. So, our experience so far is that that we’ve been conned into paying for the Prestige upgrade by Elba. Elba sold us the Prestige upgrade knowing that they can’t and won’t deliver on their promises. In some countries this would be classified as fraud: knowingly misrepresenting & lying about the services offered in order to make people part with their money.

We just returned from a five night stay in the Premium Suites.. First time in Lanzarote.. I’ll start with the positives!

The room was lovely… comfy beds and pillows, great air con and nice little outside space. The fridge was stocked daily and also fresh beds/towels daily. Plenty of coat hangers. Lots of bathroom essentials which was handy. Robes and slippers was a nice touch. Cleaning staff really lovely and did a great job.

Adults only pool was a vibe… nice chilled music playing in the background. Lovely clean facilities there too. The sun beds are super comfy, Bali beds and the plastic beds in the pool were also really lovely, just gave the place a bit of class. Poolside bar serves lovely food and snacks.. and the multi fruit punch was just lush.

Location of Elba Suites is fab, 10 minute walk to Playa Flamingo and 15 minute walk to Playa Dorada, both lovely beaches. Playa Blanca is a great area, very clean, lots of shops, lovely Marina, lovely beaches. Loved the location.

Nonna restaurant was lovely… shame you could only book one visit it was so delicious.

The hotel puts a shuttle bus on a few times a day, to and from Playa Blanca, which is great too. If you can get to the market days do, really lovely things to buy.

Now the negatives…

The shower in the room was rubbish. Hardly any water came out and when it did it wasn’t a consistent temperature.

The smell in the area is so bad… like rotting sewerage. Never smelt it around the adult pool luckily but walking around the suites it was really strong. We used the alternative entrance a few times and it was so bad round there too. Never smelt it off site though!

Previous comments mention how friendly the reception/dining staff are, they must have been tanked up on the drink! We didn’t have that experience at all. The odd one or two was lovely, but we found the majority quite standoffish really. It’s like they’re sick of guests now! I saw quite a few eye rolls when they were walking away from other guests. I don’t expect them to kiss a** but you are a guest!!

The food… Jesus Christ on a bike.. The daily roast meat/fish was great, well cooked and tasty. That was it… the rest of the mains were so bad! Fair bit of choice but bland and cold, even when you’re there on opening… everything was freezing. The only thing that had any taste was the meat paella. Unfortunately we found a big plastic ring from the top of an oil bottle in it! Mentioned it to one of the nicer staff members and she was apologetic, and told the manager but that same dish of paella was still being served when we left. Says everything about the attitude to quality of food. Pastries and bread seemed stale. Same veggie meals being brought out the night after. Also, nothing is covered up so flies just land on everything. The plates and cutlery were not very clean either.

This is NOT an adult only hotel. There are areas that are adult only, pool and restaurant etc. BUT the adult only restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner so if you want buffet lunch you have to eat in the family one, otherwise eat at pool bar (much nicer food there to be honest). Also, we had trips booked and had to have breakfast at 8 and was told to eat in the family one as they wouldn’t be ready for half hour. (Supposed to open at 8) To be fair the food is just as bad down there so made no real difference… you don’t get better meals in the adult only restaurant it’s exactly same ones.

Adult only pool… a couple of days there was like a dance instructor with all big speaker, doing water Zumba/Aerobics. Killed the vibe for us. Nice enough woman but she only had 2 or 3 people in the pool, everyone stayed on their beds so not sure why they are doing this?

Overall, the local beaches are lovely and Playa Blanca is so clean.. also it’s not built up like other tourist destinations which I really liked. Loved the location. I just wish we didn’t go all inclusive as we probably would’ve had a much better holiday eating out… the food situation just ruined it for me it was dire! On the plus side I dropped a...

Disappointed right from the start . This was one of the most expensive holidays we have had ( including 5 star Mexico and Dominica Republic hotels ) , we opted for upgraded prestige package . This holiday was by far the worst money we have spent . Stayed in better 3 stars for service and atmosphere. CHECK IN - so so slow , dealt with by almost unresponsive reception staff . NO WELCOMING , No eye contact , given a map with absolutely no information, no times ect . No entertainment guide . Just a useless map , and then sent off to work it all out ourselves. On several visits to reception during our stay , still no better , moaned at calling a taxi , gave us a number and told us to do it ourselves . A few questions for local attractions , told to just GOOGLE it ! The cleaners would be better candidates for reception, with their friendly greetings for a start ! ROOM - a lovely room , comfortable. A large garden which were secluded with beautiful 4/5 foot hedge and blooming flowers , only to be cropped down to 18 in bare twigs on our 3rd day in , why , I do not know , they looked awful. As Prestige , was entitled to pillow menu , called to order some extra pillows off the menu , they were delivered , all the exactly the same pillows , no difference what so ever . Mini bar , hit and miss , asked for diet drinks , which we did get on some occasions , canned beer with dirt and grim all in crease of top of can . RESTAURANT- the adults only restaurant and bar . Again SO SO SLOW . We were always one of 1st in at Breakfast and Dinner , and EVERYDAY , crumbs and mess on chairs and tables , placemats still stained with gravy/sauce ect . Tables were only partly set , some with no spoons , some with no salt and pepper ect . Tables left ages uncleared , they could not keep on top of this . At Breakfast, the toaster was never plugged in and ready to use , coffee/ tea machines not always turned on ready , teapots , jugs ect , not always out ready , milk was kept at opposite end of restaurant to tea/ coffee facilities. and when you asked staff for anything , you feel like naughty school kid , as the huff and moan like we shouldn’t be asking . Never got offered drinks , or maybe when we were on dessert , and almost finished , even couple of times our wine glasses taken off the table whilst we were eating and put on another table , without being asked if we even wanted drinks . HOT food barely warm , never ever did anyone temperature probe the food . COLD foods not cold , like smoked salmon , cold meats , pate and cheese are not on refrigerated counters but on counters left at room temperature, which is obviously not cold . Dinner plates stored under chefs cooking station , where people are waiting for food to be cooked, so have to squeeze in to get plate , which are hot , sometimes too hot to hold . So if you only want salad for your main meal it has to go on a hot dinner plate , or a tiny side plate . When mentioned few issues to hotel management , he wrote out a ticket for free spa pass , but as prestige customers, we had this privilege everyday already .
