We are away on a babymoon for our second. We have a 3.5 half year old who wanted Indian food. After reading rows of amazing reviews we assumed we couldn’t go wrong with this restaurant. However, our evening spent at this restaurant left us rather disappointed.
We had our hotel reception book a reservation for us. Upon entering they were empty. Save for one couple sitting outside having drinks. Yet they made a rather big fuss about our reservation, apparently they were told four people but we were only three. Menus were handed to us and the staff walked away. We placed a simple order of veg pulao rice and dal makhani for our daughter and asked for it to be brought right away. At which point the waiter very rudely stated that it would be best if we placed our order at the same time. But we needed more time to review the menu and discuss our options.
Whilst waiting for food to arrive, a lovely couple came and sat at the table next to us. It was amazing to hear the level of service they received which quite different to ours! They were welcome with a cheery smile and hello and asked if they would like to see a drinks menu and if they would like some poppadums - this was not the service we received by any means!
We ended up ordering chicken buna and aloo gobi. The quality of the food was nothing to write home about. Proportions were tiny and the naan a tandoori roti were both very crispy resembling a poppadum.
It is safe to say that we will not be returning nor would we recommend this restaurant to...
Read moreWe decided to dine here as recommended by TripAdvisor. Unfortunately it was the worst experience we had. I will give credit where it is due and that goes to the chefs as the curries were decent. The naan and tandoori roti wasn't to my liking - they may as well given us poppadums instead! Okay so now the 1 star is justified, the service is why the rest of the 4 stars were not given.
Terrible service! Maybe they assumed that being Indian made us experts on their menu et al as I soon realised non-indian customers received a very different service, smile and attention. Feel free to reply if you would like me to elaborate. As the venue became busier it was impossible to get any kind of attention from the waiters. Note if you are going to ask them to call a taxi for you, make sure you ask once you get the bill. I made the mistake of asking when i requested the bill which came 5 mins later and then payment was taken another 5mins later by which point the taxi had been waiting a little longer than he would have liked for us. On a separate note, dhaal makhni and chicken bhuna was nice. All in all front of house really need to provide a better service consistently to all their customers and not pick and choose which ones deserve it more. Safe to say I won't be visiting this place again and won't be...
Read moreWent for a meal out with the family. Spotted this place from the outside while walking past the day before, so we decided to come back yesterday evening.
The decor and theme inside was a pleasant surprise when compared to the exterior. After speaking with the managing director who told us and showed us his plans for the future we have no doubt it will look like a fantastic restaurant both outside and in!
All the staff working there were friendly and even took time to interact with our younger children.
The menu had lots of options and they also catered for younger children very well.
The food was well priced. There was a short wait for food which was fine and expected. It was served and presented very well. It was nice that you could choose your level of spice to the dish you had ordered.
The managing director took the time to talk with us and other guests even though the restaurant was busy. It was also very nice to see him "mucking in " and helping with all aspects of the work of the restaurant.
In conclusion, we felt very welcomed here, and the food was cooked well. We have no worries in recommending this Indian restaurant to anyone who is thinking of visiting.
Thank you to all the staff for a lovely...
