What if you reached Kandy town early in the morning and looking for a decent place to have a cup of coffee ☕️ maybe breakfast 🍳 and get some work done or emails sent 😇 The Devon Restaurant at 1st floor of this building is already open by 7am 🌞. I absolutely love this place ❤️🤩 since it has the vibe and sounds of a traditional coffee house. The sounds from the kitchen, the head chef barking orders to the helpers and the smell of fresh baked buns and bread 🥖🍞 all mixed together forming this unique background noise that I love to work in the morning. Most of of all what I love the most are their staff, ❤️🥰 who have been working there for ages, some who already know your regular order and tell you “sir, is it a Milk coffee?” ☕️😄 Great place to experience an old school style coffee house in the morning and get some work settled before starting the day. Not many places are open in Kandy at this time. And what wins it all is that you get a hot cup of milk coffee and all of the above for only for Rs. 75/= I’m not kidding! I have the bill. 🤩🤩🤩(might have increased now but I don’t think it’ll ever hit the price of Starbucks 😇🙏) So happy to find these traditional old-school places thriving. 🥰

We visited Devon restaurant at about 9.30 a.m on a Sunday to grab some breakfast and we had to go through a very unpleasant experience and apparently a scam. We ordered rice and curry breakfast by talking to a lady at the counter and she explained us you'll get 3 curries plus either chicken, Fish or egg and asked our preferences. We told her our preferences on curries and we prefer chicken as well. Once we tried to pay the lady at the cash register, she seems to be clueless with the POS machine and said us twice that the machine is not working. It took about 20 minutes and we were not served until we paid. However, once she figured out how to use the machine lol! the bill came out as attached. We didn't order chicken curry and we only served with two tiny pieces and when we ask why it says chicken curry they were refusing to change it and were very rude to us in our point of view. The amount is small and it's peanuts to me but the behavior and customer service is disgusting. The food wasn't tasty and the portion was lesser than to a restaurant offers in Sri Lanka. The condition of the place is also in a bad shape than it used to be 10-15 years ago. Really disgusting and if you're travelling to Kandy and wish to dine in due to the reputation Devon had in the past days, it's gone now. Owners must take action and train their employees on how to treat their customers.

Captain Table at Devon Kandy is a fantastic place, renowned for its exceptional seafood rice. The gentleman at the cashier, Pasindu, goes above and beyond in his duties, making him a valuable asset to the establishment. However, there are areas for improvement. The children's play area lacks sufficient lighting and can get quite hot; it would benefit from better ventilation or cooling. Additionally, the cleanliness needs attention. The restaurant's entrance is rather uninviting, but once inside, it stands out as one of the best dining spots in Kandy. Despite these minor issues, I highly recommend Captain Table for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant has been a top choice since 1985 by my family.

We went to devon restaurant nearly at 7.00 p.m to have a cup of tea. When we got there the staff was not that much welcoming us. Then we ordered the tea and ask for shorties they asked to get them and go away. When we having the tea they turned of the lights as you can see in the pictures. So i think it would be better if you don't go there after 6 p.m. The tea was also cold and after drinking that felt not well. So sad to say that devon restaurant is falling down there business. Forget to say that they mobed the floor when we having the tea. When we were going to go i slipped because of the floor was wet.

The Devon Restaurant serves a variety of dishes ranging from Sri Lankan to Chinese to western. The ambience of the restaurant is not what you would expect from a posh restaurant but it is quite pleasing. The food is definitely delicious and the service is prompt. There are various of dishes available for dine in and take out. I highly recommend thisrestaurant for locals and foreigners come and enjoy the taste of foods. The surroundings of the restaurant is very colourful. I visited there on last Sunday. Lot of people had arrived there for take lunch in that time.
