Vu Resto-Bar — Restaurant in Colombo

Vu Resto-Bar is a rooftop restobar in the Best Western Elyon Colombo. The Best Western is on Edmonton Road and has a spacious car park if you choose to arrive by private vehicle. To get to the Vu Resto-Bar you have to enter through the Best Western's main lobby and use the elevator to get to the eighth floor.

Once you do get to the top, the view is rather great with the ability to see the city of Colombo (day or night) in all of its splendor. It is the perfect backdrop to enjoy a good meal or drink with your loved ones or colleagues. The interior is well furnished with comfortable furniture and is far from an eyesore.

The staff were great, had big smiles, were polite and respected our space and time. Cheers to them.

Onto the menu, the drinks we ordered were served quickly however the food did take a while to arrive but since the drinks were already there, it was hardly an inconvenience plus you never know what issues are happening behind the scenes. The food was good, I cannot speak on behalf of my friends on their food, but the Fish and Chips I ordered, was rather crunchy but still rather good. They might need to make bigger portions for future customers though. Finally, I was disappointed with the cheesy fries they offered but oh well you can't expect more than cheese on fries ;) . The price of the food is moderate and what you would come to expect from other bars or good restaurants.

I give Vu Resto-Bar a 4 Star rating because it is a great place to eat with a great view, polite staff with good service and food. I couldn't give them a 5 star due to the following reasons:

A slight issue with their drainage because when we got there while it was raining the floor was all wet which was not pleasant. (Minor Fault) There was a cockroach flying around which I was afraid might land in our food. Reading previous reviews I can say there are fewer cockroaches...

Worst food we’ve had in Sri lanka, and in a long while in general.

We ordered a big sharing portion of Nachos with guac and salsa. We a flat plate with luke warm tortilla chips with a few snippets of cheese, complemented with ketchup and pesto. What... the F..? If you cant serve the food, tell your customers.

The other food was not much better. French bread pizza was a cold baquette with some tomato sauce and olives from a can. The Kati Parata didnt resemble anything the name would suggest. Bland, tasteless, terrible.

The people working there are completely untrained for hospitality. To many faults to sum up.

In summary, only go here for the view and a simple drink with low...

This place is in the 8th floor of the Best Western hotel. Mainly people come here for alcohol it seems. And most of them were smoking. Not very family friendly.

Me being a non alcoholic still had lot of things to try in the restorent. I highly recommend their barbecue chicken it is really good.

The prices are little too high and their backerey items such as burgers are not that tasty. Maybe coz they are mainly targeting the crowd who comes for alcohol.

They have a nice and clean washroom and there is a screen with sports channels running. It is a great place for a group of guys to enjoy their evening. Most of the customers there were couples. The staff is friendly...
