Jesmin Hotel — Restaurant in Weligama

Authentic Sri Lankan, Super-Affordable. Not only is this the least expensive restaurant I've found in Weligama (so far), it has great food and excellent, fun customer service. I had the fish-fried rice which was freshly made, delicious, and only cost 500RS (US$1.50). For dessert, my waiter offered to make me a fresh chocolate roti, which only took a couple of minutes and was amazing for only 150RS ($US.50). This place comes highly recommended but I'm not sure why... I ordered the cheese and chicken kottu and there was a lot of bone and cartilage in it. The cheese was just squares of soft cheese. Overall the food was dry and a struggle to eat. We are in and the eating area was very hot and extremely loud from the preparation of kottu, you can't hear the person next to you and you have to cover your ears. Good local spot right in town. The other reviews are pretty accurate - it's very colourful, cheap, and the food is consistently good.

The only downside is that they don't speak/understand English so well and that it's hot in there but at the price point it's hard to expect anything more.
