Complicated menu appears simple. Aldente is apparently the norm for pastas here despite it not appearing once in the menu.

Have been to many other Italian restaurants around Sweden, around the world - never have it tasted as bland as this. May as well have gone to Willys and picked up a can of pasta sauce and a pack of spaghetti. Could say more about the seafood part, but I will not.

Really wish I had something good to say about the food itself, but I don't.

Excellent service though. Maybe pizza is the thing...

An unforgettable gem in Östersund! Our visit to Basta was entirely unplanned—but what a spectacular surprise it turned out to be. It was, hands down, the best meal of our trip. Lovely space with friendly staff. Generous portions, nice drinks. The food was generally very good, though perhaps some dishes could use fine-tuning. For instance, I love polenta fries / funchi but these were a bit overcooked, slightly tough and gummy on the outside. Still good though. The tuna salad had lovely fresh ingredients, but it was quite over-sauced.

Overall, it was a nice experience. Will be back to try...
